I agree. I jave noticed that as well. India and South Asian countries are far too emotional in their response to political issues. China has an even bigger historical rivalry and enmity with Japan and vice versa. However , both countries are deeply tied and linked economically and there is a huge amount of Japanese people and companies investing and living in China without much repercussions. The vhineegoveenment has never really targeted Japnese companies investing in China, if anything they welcome it with open arms and make things easier for them to invest even more, same with American companies despite US government sanctions and conflict with China. I will say East Asian countries are more level headed I this regard, they do often separate economics and politics. Funny enough it's no wonder China is still more attractive for FDI than even India who is a democracy in name and has more alignment of interests with the west. Yet Western countries still invest far more in China than India. Apart from bureaucratic, economic, ,legal and political reasons . India's governance structure and laws are often chaotic, which limits investments since return on investment for investors usually isn't as much as in China hence the discrepancies.I think this is the cultural difference between East Asia and South Asia. Although Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country, its culture belongs to the East Asian Confucian cultural circle.
East Asian countries usually do not confuse political and economic issues. For example, China and Japan have too many contradictions and hatred between the two countries, but China is still Japan's largest trading partner. If two countries have major natural disasters, the other country must be the first to provide assistance.
However, South Asian countries always like to tie political issues with economic issues, which is not just India's unique habit. The same is true of Pakistan, for example. I saw some Pakistanis even refuse assistance from India a few days ago.
You should learn from Vietnamese. They have enough courage to face challenges, so they can win real opportunities.
As for the relationship between China and India, is it worse than that between China and Vietnam?
The Chinese have slaughtered Vietnam for thousands of years. Now Chinese warships only chase Vietnamese ships in the South China Sea and never harass other countries' ships.
In this case, Vietnamese can also distinguish politics from economy.
Indians always tie economic problems with political problems, and finally lose economic opportunities due to political conflicts.
Facing RCEP, Indians are afraid of competition and loss of domestic market, while Vietnamese are not afraid. Vietnamese can't even build tractors. Can Indians be inferior to Vietnamese?
However, Vietnamese have avoided competition by becoming a part of China's industrial chain. Their export data has grown from 170 billion dollars in 2016 to 340 billion dollars in 2021, an increase of 100% in five years.
The data does not support this claim, and in fact China exported $72.8 billion to India in 2019, compared to $92.5 billion last year.Dependence on China cannot be reduced over night ,it takes time. We are working on reducing imports from China one step at a time.
Usually around this time you would see Chinese goods flooding the Indian market ,even fire crackers and lights were imported ,but now a days you don't see that happening.
Year on year if you see the list of items being imported from China keeps reducing, previously we even used to import plastic spoons and ice cream spoons from China.
