China applauds Russian FM remarks on South China Sea

Funny reading posts of Chinese posters commenting on Vietnam national security. What we shall do and shall not. The reason why we are still alive is we never listen to them. Otherwise we would have long ended up in gas chamber.

Xisha is an inherent territory of China with islands are in full development that has cost billions of dollars. They are beyond to be negotiated, I am afraid. Do not be over optimistic; even one on one talks on Nansha would not involve giving up on historic rights and entitlements of China.

Bilateral talks mean upgrading the status quo and managing the disputes with no major incidents among the related parties.

If those full-fledged islands can be developed as defensive structures, they do provide some deterrence to the US military adventures. As China is more involved in ensuring freedom of navigation in SCS, the US will be squeezed out. But, obviously, for some time to come, China and the US will share high waters as China goes further blue navy. Nonetheless, freedom of navigation and China's ownership of islands in SCS are two different things. China will slowly absorb the islands, while at the same time, reinforcing freedom of navigation, which will keep the US with no real excuse to intervene.

In the final analysis, if it intervenes militarily, damaging China's interests in any way, it will be responded equally. If they are ready to die for you and the Philippines, we will help them achieve the objective.

Definitely, those islands will eventually be taken back. But we will recognize your rights for freedom of navigation and ocean exploitation.

Japan is fine as we are readying to sign world's third largest free trade regime.

You can invite the US to stay nearby, but do not give them any base rights that would allows soldiers to be stationed. That's not healthy for your nation's moral and cultural viability.

As I see you are smart as it is now the Philippines that takes all the brunt while Vietnam enjoys positive externalities only.

Both Islands Paracel and Spratlu does belong to Vietnam from long time in the past. Historically there is Vietnamese Ocean recognized by Chinaese in your map. Vietnam is the first state set up official controls on islands in Nguyen warlord Vietnam. Pls fabricating about history here.

China invaded anf taken with force Paracel 1974 and Spratly 1988. China can not deny this truth.

Exactly buddy. I would rather die than be shamed to let a foreigner control our country.
But then again, we are talking to shameless folks.

It is shameful for China when you are lying about history and robbed with force Islands of your neghbors. Better is for you pls go to die now.

You Vietnamese don't have history, all your ancient fiction history books were written in Chinese which you can't read anyway so all your claim about SCS is invalid...LMAO.

you are funny boy my friend. Our historian used Hanzi for writing our history books in the past, for both people Vietnamese and Chinese. Chinese can study your map printed in China, it said that SCS is called as "Vietnam Ocean" by your ancestors. And also Chinese can check Vietnam history books and old map, it stated that Islands were controlled by Vietnamese long time ago. It is very clear.

We can learn speak and write Chinese very easy, my friend.

Tell me which nation's nationalist historian want to use enemy's writing to write their own history for the sake of their own nation:rofl:, you're just too funny. Your ancient Hanzi text books are just invalid because 99.99% of actual Vietnamese can't even read its...and you dare to backup your SCS claim with history book writing in Chinese....LMAO.

C'mon man be real.:coffee:

Then, apparently we are in serious disagreement. At this point, there is really not much we can do other than hoping for a degree of reconciliation.

It is nothing wrong here , my friend, both Korean and Japanese has been written their own history chronicle in Hanzi, not only Vietnamese.:pop:

Today, in modern time 21th century, China can not furnished simply such aggressive invasion and stolen other countries's territories like China did in ancient time.

It all depends on the context. Remember, the 1970s when you invaded all those islands, international system was well set up. Nothing much has changed ever since just because we moved from the 1900s to 2000s; we are basically living in a post-Westphalian order constructed some four centuries ago.

I guess you have perfectly shown that it is in fact quite possible to invade other country's territories. China will simply correct the historical anomaly.

There is no order in the past has been made for such fabrication, my friend. In Ming Dynasty China, it was said where is Vietnam border and where is Vietnam Ocean. Recently, In San Francisco cònference 1951, claim of KMT ROC is rejected.

Actually, Russia want the conflict would be resolved by international laws and UNCLOS, that is what China opposed.
Anyway, that's solely Russia idea, which is external player too.

BEIJING, April 13 (Xinhua) -- China on Wednesday welcomed remarks by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the South China Sea disputes and reaffirmed that a solution would be found through consultation.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lu Kang made the comments at a regular press briefing in response to Lavrov's remarks made when talking with the Chinese, Japanese and Mongolian media in Moscow on Tuesday.

Lavrov reportedly said all countries involved in the disputes should follow the principles of non-use of force, and continue seeking mutually acceptable political and diplomatic solutions. He also urged external players to stop interfering in the negotiations among those involved.:dance3:

"Anyone who really cares about peace and stability in the South China Sea should support China and countries directly involved to solve the disputes through negotiation and consultation, in accordance with international law, bilateral agreements and the Declaration of the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DOC)," Lu said.

He noted that it is not constructive for other countries or organizations to exacerbate the tense situation and sow discord.

Russia's repositioning itself in the Asia-Pacific as a more vocal supporter of China is welcome and was anticipated. This is also based the realistic assessment that Russia's traditional arms customers are increasingly turning to the US, including Vietnam which recently, under US pressure, banned Russian ship from using the port.

Russia also voiced its interest to hold a three-nation military exercise (CN, Brunei and RU) in the SCS; and I believe it is going to take place this year.

As Mr. Yi said, China and Russia's position on SCS is aligned across the global norms, which requires respect for sovereignty and non-interference by unrelated third parties.
