China angered after U.S. fighter jets land in Taiwan

PLAAF attacked the F-18 with electronic warfare to fry its circuits. It was too unstable to land on a carrier so had to land in Taiwan. Next time we should just shoot it down.
You are absolutely correct. That is EXACTLY what happened.

Considering it was a Marine jet and not a Navy one the pilot would probably have crashed if he tried to land on a carrier even if there was nothing wrong with the plane.

Plus not even 200km away is Shimojishima Airport - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is definitely a retaliatory move from the US after being humiliated by China and the AIIB. They are trying to show Asia and the World that they are not a declining power. Since US don't have much economic leverage, being that they are just greedy parasites, they are flexing the only significant muscles they have, and that is of course their military. I'm sure Taiwan are worried as anybody having those jets there and they are seemingly caught between a rock and a hard place, trying to appease two giants. I'm sure it's the Taiwanese side that came up with the mechanical issues excuse to placate China.

I don't think China is angry, routine diplomatic rant. Western media that under US influence from now will twist anything China does or say in a negative light. US' retaliation has just begun.

Have you heard? US rejected RMB as reserve currency for IMF, what a surprise.
Rumor has it that the US Secretary of the Treasury was actually in China demanding NO.1 or 2 share of AIIB, and of course it was rejected. And right after oh look our oil pressure warning is on, let me remind you I can still park wherever I want cause I am still the No.1.

Indeed, some dumb heads do not understand that states do not get angry. They do not show emotions. Well, at least, strategic-minded and forward-thinking states.

Foreign policy is not to please the populace. The US does not give a damn about the popular consent when it comes to foreign policy. Ordinary people do not simply understand.

This is just a regular statement and the particular incident has mostly been ignored by the media except some little mention.

Some people jumped up and down when Myanmar bombed Chinese border area by mistake. In the end, none of their predictions and preaches turned out to be true. China just handled the issue like a great power and cool-heads prevailed.

Rest assured, Taiwan is not going anywhere and everyday under status quo is a bringing the unification closer. US can play the military tricks as they wish, and it is understandable, since this parasite regime has no other arsenal other than the military in its foreign policy making.

When beaten badly by China at the political economy front, they resort to their only viable option: Some dumb***k stunt move using Taiwan as a chip. Taiwan is not pleased at all.

Marine F-18s forced to divert flights, land in Taiwan

Two Marine Corps F/A-18C Hornets were forced to land at an airport in Taiwan after a warning light indicated a problem with one of the jets.

During a flight from Japan to Singapore on Wednesday, one of the Hornet's oil pressure warning lights illuminated, prompting the pilot to divert the flight and land at Tainan Airport. The second Hornet also landed at the Taiwanese airport "in order to maintain section integrity," Marine Forces Pacific Spokesman Chuck Little said in a statement.

Both aircraft are assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323, the Death Rattlers, based out of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. The aircraft, however, were flying out of Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, where they're based temporarily as a part of the service's Unit Deployment Program.

The Marines were flying to Singapore to participate in Commando Sling, an aviation exercise with Singaporean troops.

The Hornets have since departed Taiwan, but it's not immediately clear whether they completed the journey to Singapore or went elsewhere.

"Safety is always a top priority in any flight operation," Little said. "Our pilots have the responsibility for diverting their aircraft to the nearest approved airfield if they experience an in-flight condition which they deem unsafe. This is done in order to protect the pilots, crew and the aircraft."

Commando Sling, an air combat training exercise, started in 1990. Aside from Marine Corps squadrons and Singaporeans, the exercise has also involved jets from the U.S. Air Force, and on occasion, units from a third country. It's unclear who is participating in this year's exercise besides Marines and Singapore's military.

America is on a global scale humiliated by its poor handling of the Chinese initiative. By pressuring its allies not to join only Japan and Canada were left standing next to USA while the rest jumped on our train like some domino effect.
China beat USA in arm wrestling on the political and economic front so now the US wants to send a signal to the world "hey, we still matter to this world (militarily speaking)" lol, this action only reflects US as a poor loser and nothing more.
Really do the Americans take the world as fools and expect everyone believe USA can still protect Taiwan while everyone can see the PLA is gaining strength at a rapid rate while we only spend < 2% of the total GDP. Our time will come when we will unify again, until then we will keep pumping more war machines out like hotcakes :D

By what, and where?

It's all over folks.
The US flew in a maintenance crew on a military C130...checked the plane over...and all flew away.
