China Accuses Sweden Of Violating Human Rights After Hostel-Booking Confusion

well let say if the CCTV footage show up then the staff are telling the truth , if they hide those videos then I guess I believe the guest are telling the truth .
I remember the hotel said they don't have any CCTV footage, the Sweden news only showed the cell phone video that was edited. Also the Chinese embassy complained aboutt the Chinese tourist got beat up in the police car and asked for a cam video, but the police said they also don't have any video from the police car.

The man order a hotel room in 8/30, but he arrived on 8/30 1:00AM which he has to wait until 2pm to check in, so he and his family want to stay at lobby for that period of time, which is against policy, so they called police after tourists refuse to leave.

Police never touched them in the process, they just lying down there and trying to blame police to get them to stay, but it is only possible in China, outside of China people actually carry out laws like it suppose to.

Reports says his father had a heart attack yet no ambulance was called, total fake.

great performance from chinese .

Who Believe a hotel in sweden don't have any CCTV at least in the lobby ?
specially if the hotel is offering reservation via the Internet

This really said something about the case, it almost 3 weeks since it was happened and not a single video from the hostel except a cellphone video that was edited from the News. I guess most people just want to know what was happening in the hostel and the truth but not a edited cellphone video which a Chinese tourist became hysterical after his father was unconscious on the ground. Not to mention, the Chinese tourist complained about his 67 years old father got punch in the chest inside a police car, so that cell phone video really proves nothing.

I think this was simply a misunderstanding which was due to the different cultural perceptions. Nordic folks are generally those who avoid altercations and any serious public argument is umm... resented and taken seriously.

Don't think it could be anything more than just a misunderstanding between the tourists and the hosts.

From what I read about this incident, the hostel staffs initially let the tourists to stay at the lobby, until the younger tourist brought anothe female tourist, who also looked for a place to stay, to the lobby. Then the staffs asked them to leave. A lot of us don't think there was a problem since the hostel has a right to ask anyone to leave their property. The problem lay on the way how the police handled the case.

There are severe restrictions on cameras in Sweden to avoid infringing on citizens rights.

. .
You mean its restricted Even in hotel lobbies ?
Yes, you have to have permission for ALL fixed cameras which are focusing on a public area.
The privacy of the public place is considered important.
This means that not everyone bothers with getting a permission, and do not install cameras.
I you have a home security system, you may not photograph anyone passing by on a public road.
You may have cameras pointing inwards, or if you have a high wall, pointing outwards.
Even the police have to have a court order to put up cameras.
Until recently, it was forbidden to have actioncams in cars, but then it was decided
that they are only recording when there is someone driving, so even if they are fixed,
they should count as a personal camera.
