The 2nd 052D destroyer in trial voyage.

It's quick when 1st 052D DDG N.o172 out then 2nd 052D start to sea trial.

N.o172 first one of 052D DDG, had finished sea trial last year this year will join PLA Navy.

PLAN need to quickly put this destoyer into service. I expected 3-4 Type052D to commission this year. PLAN will have a decent power projection of destroyers capable of firing LACM and long range air defense missile.

Now it is quite clear that the Type 055 will start the construction by the end of 2014 or early 2015.

The JN shipyard will start to build the Type 055 after its 6th Type 052D.

The DL shipyard will start to build the Type 055 after its 4th or 6th Type 052D.

Overall, the Type 052D is projected to build around 10-12.

The projected 12,000 tonne Type-55 would have superior radars and electronics as the US does not give it's best technology. They are just downgraded AEGIS "export" models.

The 128 VLS units of the Type 055 are far bigger and superior to that of the Sejong the Great class.

PS, the Type 055 has the dual band AESA radars which are comparable to that of the Arleigh Burke Flight III.

The 64 VLS units of the Type 052D took far more space than the 96 MK-41 units.

So the Type 052D has reached the maximum capacity for a 7000 tons class destroyer, so i believe it can also fit 96 MK-41 units.
