Chief of Air Staff Mujahid Anwar Khan calls on PM Imran Khan, professional matters discussed

Why cant we have a serious discussion and when will people get out of their F-16 fetishes? I mean seriously we dont the Fuckin money to even run the day to day affairs and PM is running to Friendly countries to keep Pakistan from defaulting and people are looking at US weapons.
What should be the point of discussion is how to get out of FATF, US withdrawal and Afghan settlement, increasing US investment in Pakistan and making sure US does not give voice to anti Pakistan elements like Pashteen etc, getting organisations such as Jamat Al-har which the US previously veto, a terrorist organisation, increasing trade to take advantage of China US trade rivalry, most importantly asking US to stop portraying Pakistan as the bad guy for their failures in Afghanistan and last but not least making sure Iran and US does not go to war.
These are things that matter and not F-16s. Weapon procurement from the US should be the last thing on our cards.

You dont pay money upfront for weapons you buy .
Economic situation is not that worse as it seems to be , more of it is artificial inflation and downfall .
Pakistan again going to be blue eyed "ally" for US in coming few years due to afghanistan and somewhat iran . You will see Exxon mobil returing back to drill oil in pak sea ......
If you engage US in oil business you become Saudi Arabia and if you conceal oil from them you become venezuela and iran regardless of the reality of having largest oil reserves in world .......
Pakistan is going to engage US companies in gwadar port city . Engage US and chinese companies in rekodiq gold reserves . Engage chinese companies in coal reserves . Engage russian companies in industrial business . And relax this is going to happen in next decade and more and more weapon market will be open for Pakistan .

.
For some reason I believe ( and i know i will face criticism over it ) that here America have slight better intentions for Pakistan for now , because they have Iran and Afghanistan into full swing at them, so for now I can hope for some generosity from America to keep the Balance of Power in S.Asia , because next Skirmish if Pakistan is about to get their Arse whooped, we go for the Red Button which even the world still scared of .

From strategical point of view & reading into US style diplomacy; I am sure that Washington will not solely rely upon India in this region and need more someone like Pakistan on her side to handle certain issues which are way beyond Indian control and US does know that. However, a slight shift of relations by the players in this game, will change the wholesome results. Pakistan is indeed a very strong party for the most of matters in this region & Afghanistan peace is more attached to our play.

US does want a safe exit but don't want to lose its Intel Presence knowing her adversaries like China & Russia. Then on other hand, India is too weak to handle both cases at once and there we are that make a difference at least to the extent where US can exit safely & Afghanistan will return to peace. Pakistan is strong candidate of this game and US has already seen our growing relations under aggressive, active & working diplomacy. Now, as I said before, it is also up-to US to play it wisely & not to lose more. As famously said; have more friends and less enemies.

Coming to Iranian Chapter, Pakistan will play the way which benefit us & insure our safety & sovereignty. To me, Pakistan has more to lose as compare to Iran & US will never go into direct confrontation with Tehran. It is rather the plan to utilize someone else services to do the job while emphasis on next move as how to take down an old friend which has become stronger. Whatever happens in this region, will effect more Pakistan as compare to any portraying victim. Even if Iran is done, who will deal with KSA, UAE etc in Middle East then? so Iran is a must for US to sell more, keep an influence, keep the presence & create ways to earn out of others fear & miseries.

I would like to be on record here for saying this - It pains me, just as it pains you, to see this this mess of epic proportions.

All because of a few peoples greed. I say hang them in public!
nothing personal when I criticize GCC or Iranian politics
my criticism or observations on historical events is just an opinion and my frustration how we all play on the tunes of the west this is irrelevant

despite all this time and again Muslim countries have helped each other. It hurts me to see Persian Arab conflict and I pray the times to return when they were allies and friendly because I admire them and like them both.

coming to this thread. our airforce has benefited immensely from the support from Arab countries that I cant even share here. we are where we are with much love , support and friendship from Arab countries and this is why our Arab colleagues termed 27 Feb victory as their own.. bless them

Araz bhai, you definitely understand Geopolitics and regional issues better than me, but you really really think that after the 27th humiliation where their biggest paid stooges like Christian fair and Tarek Fateh can't stand behind what they are selling to their general Public, they will bite back and this time much harder . This is what even Oscar and Messiach hinted too that Indians are arming themselves to the teeth while we are still celebrating .
Bhai.
I am as much a student of geopolitics as you or anyone else. I have based my argument on 4 or 5 facts.
A. Elections are over so there is no need to exert Indian position.
B. The IAF has been found wanting both in technique training and equipment. To try and do the same thing again and again expecting a different result defies logic. Therefore preparation is required which might take time
C The new hardware being acquirrd needs to be incorporated tried and integrated within the IAF. This takes time. Rafale will get delivered in 2 years but getting people trained and used to the platfirm could take another 2-3 years.
4. If Pakistan and India both make peace overtures on Modi's next visit this need will reduce further. The problem with an excursion into Pak terrain is that you can initiate hostilities but we will respond. If we respond then there is no guarantee as to where events take us.
5 India used an excuse to attack Pakistan. Since this was a transient affair there does not appear to be a justification for increasing hostilities.

somebody invaded Iraq twice, Kwait, Syria and Libya and Yemen
why not Pakistan
and Turkey and when all dealt with .. finally Saudi Arabia
To understand it, people would need to wake up from the dreams of grandiose (suppa dupa nuclear power) and smell the coffee. Pakistan is definitely in the queue and what would Iran pose as a challenge to US that US has not handled before.

A NATION which is POLITICALLY UNITED and having regional influence and reach upto a Nation which is protected by USA in middle east, therefore any action against Iran is possible only IF the situation in Syria is settled in favour of a Nation which is under protection of USA

I don't think that your reply answers the question. All you are saying is that it may not be possible to take on Iran now. My thought was not time frame based. US has been handling this region as it should in its own interest fairly effectively. The reason for not attacking Iran has been more in line with keeping opposite forces at play and for their mutual survival. Hence, these nations in the region will be keep themselves busy with each other instead of 'looking outward to solve other 'more contentious issues' and improving their overall state as an independent nations.

On the flip-side...look like an opportunity! "chance of the century" my learned Friend!

5 India used an excuse to attack Pakistan. Since this was a transient affair there does not appear to be a justification for increasing hostilities.

Is there any guarantee the new norm set by Indians will not be done again! i dont think so...there narrative/strategy is built upon retaliation..precedent is set already.

Look Who is out of the whole!!

Any misadventure by Pakistan Army will be repelled with punitive response: Army chief
"The Indian armed forces stand resolute and ready to defend our territorial integrity. Let there be no doubt that misadventures will be repelled with a punitive response," he said.

Pakistan Army will be repelled with punitive response and no act of terror will go unpunished, Army chief General Bipin Rawat said Saturday.

Speaking at an event on '20 Years after KargilConflict', Rawat said Pakistan Army, time and again, resorts to misadventure, either through state-sponsored terrorism or intrusions in India.

"The Indian armed forces stand resolute and ready to defend our territorial integrity. Let there be no doubt that misadventures will be repelled with a punitive response," he said.

The rise of non-state actors and the readiness to use terror and other irregular methods of fighting have become a new norm, he said.

Addition of cyber and space domain has changed the battlefield scenario, the Army chief noted.
Rawat also asserted that no act of terror will go unpunished. "Surgical strikes post-Uri and Balakot (terror attacks) have amply demonstrated our political and military resolve against terror. Any act of terror will not go unpunished," Rawat added.

LM wants to sell the much larger F-21 deal to India; you really think they will
Lobby for us?
The F-21 is a dead stick to India.

Still not entirely convinced that India has got a free pass for ordering the S-400, but then again the US knows that India/Russia relations go way back.

Turkey has become the first Nation in recent years to defy the all mighty United States. I don't see how the US is gonna be able to persuade India to buy their equipment...with pressure.

India also is bitter on the Iranian Oil sanctions, so ordering the F-21 doesn't appear plausible.

Naturally, we don't have the kind of money India does to become a customer for the F-21, but, i'm sure Lockheed Martin would've preferred Pakistan as the perfect testbed.

I wonder what will become of the F-21 project once India goes for the Rafales.

Araz bhai you are one of the most humble poster here . you definitely have more experience than i do in understanding and accessing the things in region .

I will try to add little my opinion in what you suggest in these 5 points .

A)You say Elections are over but Indian intentions are still hostile towards Pakistan, if we believe in rumors even after 27th there were lots of tries for incursions ,and look at the recent Exercise India is having in J&K .

B)Araz bhai India over-estimate their capabilities and underestimate us, next skirmish they will be ready and will be so harsh in their actions .

C)I agree with you here .. they should not try anything without Rafale in their own PM words if they have Rafale results would have been better .

D)Araz bhai with Modi in Power Peace has very little chance, and the mindset of Indian media and public is just too much, another attack on Indian forces in Kashmir and we will see their media calling for Genocide along with their Actors and Sportsman .

E)Araz Bhai our Enemy is like a rich but mad bull , its hard to expect reasonable things from them . but I am hopeful for Peace .

More Rafale is a way to go for india along teja 1 and 2 with EU and isreal Avionics.

And I don't expect much from out forign office .
The babus are just not ready for diplomacy .
Knowing full well that our Foreign Office lacks the experience and/or preparation ahead of such crucial events..., then there is a lot of homework that needs to be done ahead of his visit.

The goofup in Bishkek, during the SCO Summit gives you an idea that he was not briefed - at all.

IK is a very dashing and charismatic personality. But over the years, Politics have certainly changed him or maybe age is finally catching up on him.

What IK/Pakistan needs is Think Tanks to council him prior to his trip.

He can't just start talking about his usual pet points (Corruption, IMF Loans, Scandinavian Countries, China Economy). He has seriously ran out of mileage with that crap & even his diehard supporters what him to now let go of it.

Individuals like Dr. Moeed Pirzada who specializes in US Politics/Policies are perfect candidates whom IK can consult.

He certainly doesn't need to do this...
