Chidambaram’s visit gives new impetus to Saudi-Indian trade ties

What is the language that you are writing in? Is it a latinized form of Urdu? Is it the same language that you use to communicate with Pakistani users on this forum? I assume that this is the case.

Yes, I was astonished at the bilateral ties between KSA and India. I know that they were significant but not that big.

The trade volume was 27 billion USD in 2012 between the two countries. Do someone have the data for last year? It would be interesting to see how much it improved if anything.

@ranjeet

We respect your relationship with Pakistan ..... no problems with that man. I was curious about non religious tourism. I don't know about others but .... had I a chance I wouldn't have thought about another moment before visiting beautiful country side.

I don't think SA would want us Indians to spread some drunken cr@p

You are very welcome. Yes, maybe in the future. Let us see. But there is always UAE and the Gulf states for that. I mean Dubai together with Beirut are the "party capitals" of the ME.

Is chemical engineering a big thing in India? It seems so since I study with quite a few Indians. Two from Kerala, one from Hyderabad and one from Delhi. My favorite Indian province is Kerala due to the historical ties with our region.

Take it easy man.:lol:

Executions do not occur often in KSA. In 2011 only 26 people were executed and all mostly murderers, drug smugglers etc. So you will be safe. A lot is happening behind closed doors anyway. Let an Indian user who lived in Jeddah tell this to you in Hindi. Don't remember his name unfortunately. He thanked one of my posts earlier today so I will see if I can get the username.

Yes, KSA-Pakistani relations are special and the relations between the common man is just as good if not even better.

Dont let for a moment think that I am talking against the common people man. It's never a thing about we or them kind of thing. We respect your appreciation of Pakistanis ... heck you might even find me taking side with Pakistanis against Wahabis :p:
(have no idea about the sects but still you can't blame us for taking sides with our lost cousins) :P

.
They will continue to improve.
Although I'm amazed by the recent spurt of high flying CXO jobs based in KSA floating in Indian Job portals.
I mean Dubai, AD, Manama, Muscat, Kuwait are flooded with Indian expats and labour...but in KSA there is relatively lesser presence.

But the trend is obviosuly improving by leaps and bounds:woot:

Cheapening of Saudi sour crude improves relations too:yahoo:...jai Ambani:agree:

@ranjeet @SirHatesALot @Ayush

Look at that number of the trade exchange. $43 BILLION in 2013 from $27 billion in 2012. Nearly a growth of 100 percent in just 1 year! And we are not talking about a growth of $2-5 billion but $16 billion! That's impressive.

good business relation means better ties between countries. Hope we do more export to ksa because currently trade is onesided.

Since we eat several kilograms of rice daily (Basmati) you can mass-produce to the KSA market. :lol:

Urdu is derived from the Khariboli dialect which itself derives from Hindustani. Urdu just has a lot of Farsi loanwords just like it has Arabic, Turkic and other loanwords. Correct me if I am wrong but is Urdu not a very recent language compared to most languages of the area?

Do the Indians who speak Urdu use the Latin alphabet or a local one? I know that the Pakistani Urdu speakers use the Arabic alphabet.

Anyway back to the topic.

Tht is/was actually Pak produced rice .. Labelled by and exported as indian..

Thanks for that one 7abibi. I actually knew that it was grown in Pakistan as well but I also know that India is the main rice exporter of the world. Or is that China? We import a lot of rice from them as do other ME countries but Pakistani rice is also very popular.

I can't think of other things that we import from India aside from textiles, garments, machinery etc. But I am sure that there could be a bigger trade.

What is more important though is strengthening the bilateral ties with Pakistan.

@DESERT FIGHTER

I do not know about this so cannot comment but I know that both Pakistan and India produces enough of rice to export it.

KSA does not produce enough rice to export it at all. The most famous locally produced rice is the Hasawi rice from the Eastern Province:

.

Baseless stories as always

Pakistan not even in top 10 exporters of rice

Last year India export 9.5 million tons of rice.
Thailand's loses top rice exporter title - The Nation

What is total production of rice in Pakistan ??? I am sure its lower then our export :omghaha:

May be Pakistani themselves sell their rice with Indian tag.
