There are initiatives like this in Kerala schools with a news paper called "Malayala Manorama" The project is called "Nalla Padam" means good lessons.. Through this initiatives, students help others to build homes, collect cloths for poor, cultivate vegetables etc etc.. And the news paper will give it ample coverage so that other schools get inspiration from it.. It was very much successful in our state..
