Chandrayaan 3 - a curtain raiser by ISRO

SSLV does not use cryogenic, neither does PSLV. From 2014 - as per ISRO website total succcesful GSLV launces from 2014 are just 6. 3 more took place this year. So 9 launches in 9 years somehow does not scream "indegenous".
@CallSignMaverick @Cheepek @Skull and Bones
So according to you, how many launches should've been done by now?

So Buran had only one launch in erstwhile Soviet Union, so it was not ‘indegenous’ then?

. . .
Rocket engines ain't software to refactor o_O
Why did ISRO purchase them then ? that too in 90s when india was very hard up with forex ?

Yes buran was a failure. It was wasteful and does nothing other than boost vanity of Soviet union and russia. So they canned it.

@Bilal9 what do you really do for a living ?
He sells pork pizza and names his joint Indo food by day. Jacks off to Khaleda Zia at night. Secretly wishes his Bihari Muslim grandparents had migrated to Pakistan instead of godforsaken Bangladesh.
His fathers and uncles were razakars during '71.

His cousins from Comilla are expert pole vaulters but do honest labor in neighboring Indian states driving the below vehicle.

Your jokes are getting lamer and lamer by the day.

Slow claps......
None the more lamer & butthurt posts than yours! With all the humility that I can muster & say "dhuur... bhaag bada...."

it is a simple commercial transaction

it is not so simple when you had to cough up $200 million usd of forex then for something india has no immediate uses.

I am crediting ISRO with alteast some intelligence in this case and they used this transaction to import tech as well (Note : Russia was willing to transfer tech).

But who knows they maybe even dumber than i credit them and burnt all that money just for engines.

Clearly intelligence was in short supply when god was apportioning it out and a modicum of knowledge would help you comprehend that when you go to buy a car you are not paying AUDI or BMW for the technology to build your own.

You are buying a car so you can drive it. India bought engines INITIALLY to use in launch vehicles for our satellites.
We make our own engines now, there are photos showing how different they are from the ones we bought and they are more powerful than the the ones we bought.

Since you are having considerable difficulty in grasping even the basics , I know of some remedial teachers who work with "special" children.
I am happy to pass you the details . I of course will be completely discrete so you needn't fret. No one here needs to know.

India purchased them in early 90s. but its first successfull launch of cryogenic came nearly 20 years after in 2013.

So your bloviating claim of "initially to use in launch vechicles" does not pass muster.

It means two things - ISRO was sitting on russian engines to re-engineer. Or they were too dumb to even make use of it.

If you want to be in the satellite launch business it is a simple commercial transaction

All the questions worth debating are whether India needs to be in the business, is this best approach etc.

Dude you are embarrassing yourself.

You said it yourself our 1st cryogenic engine came online in 2013, meaning 20 years later and the engines bought from the Russians were used up in launch vehicles by then so how can we reverse engineer a spent engine.

Now if you claim we first disassembled the Russian engine (bcz we bought a completed and ready to use engine) and reverse engineered it and then put it all back together and then used that tampered engine in our launch vehicles
then you mate, need a mental checkup,
Because just in case you didn't knew it Cryogenic engines are one of the most complex piece of engineering and you can't just open the up and then put it all back together and expect it to work just fine.
FYI - every single cryogenic engine that we bought was used up in a launch vehicle.

I guess it'll be better if you let India manage it's finances and you focus on your next installment. What India invests in is its own volition and none of your concern.
Countries spend billions of dollars on a sustained basis in research and development, you should rather get busy with that app by your S&T ministry (whatever it's called) to know the time of moon for Eid.
Don't fret about ISRO, India will continue to burn more and more money so that your musings remain constipated. 😉
