Chabahar Port: India Losing Against China – OpEd

Maybe it's little bit premature to discuss the regional cooperation until Indan and Pakistan calculate and realize that the benefit of cooperation outweight their differences.

As i said we already did but it need two to tango and pakistan still don't want any cooperation. So this will be my last post in this thread.

.
Okay but that's my point, apart from Gwadar port what else can they offer?
a) 180 million Market
b) Safe Oil Route (US embargo NIL)
c) Trump Card to India (No or less tax on chinese good to make chinese good lucrative in Middle east & Central Asia)
d) Infact china desire to construct its Western Part is more concerning matter then Gwadar itself, they want development in that part of their country, it also help in calming down other matters including Ughurs
e) Chinese Naval base in our Sea....:sniper:(if not today then some day in future)
f) More cooperation in defense sector, bcoz we are not less then chinese in that sector , like we joint venture for Jet Fighters
g) We entice Chinese investment more in Pak-land then in China (by giving them more lucrative offers), that make our country Safe Heaven for Chinese investors, ....when that happens we become more difficult to replaced, Bcoz threat to Pakistan means threat to Chinese interest
h) Friendship with 1 Big Giant is better then dealing with many small countries

Lol India not even built it's own cities yet and went to other country to build port... Hehe
I want Wolf ..In your DP ...:big_boss:

Frankly speaking ! I dont understand Indian Love of Chahbahar Port........ (( Pariii Shadi ma Abdullah Dewanaa))
I dont utter word in that matter, bcoz i dont want to break indian hearts or Beat Air with myriads of LOGIC & Reasons
But my Logic have following points .....
a) Chahbahar is not for ordinary indian population (exclude super duper rich class)
b) Chahbahar have 3 breaks, Land route to Port of india, Unload then load Ships, ....Long Travel.....Unload to Load Trucks again??
c) how india fight for its costly product in Central Asia when on the other hand they have alternate affordable chinese products..??

offcourse its a hassle for us,,but with such nice relations with Pakistan,we have to seek other options for gaining access to Afghanistan8-)
moreover it will prove beneficial to all three countries,,Iran most of all.

Land- Sea- Land route from India to Central Asia is is cheaper and faster than Land- Land- Land route from Chinese heartland (where their production is situated) .

You don't know what you are talking about.

I dont know what you're refering to about to be independant of India, but for gwadar,Chabahar and regional link I dont see Pakistan has anything to lose, earn a transit fee from India doesn't mean to be dependent on them.

Pakistan does not want to become trade dependent on India unless India pull it's occupying forces out of IOK/Maqbooza Kashmir.

There is a lot to loose trading with India. Gwadar holds very strategic & sensitive location & Pakistan does not want further troubles in it's Balochistan & Makran regions.

Hello @American Pakistani ,

Do you think it will ever be possible to find a resolution to the Kashmir issue between Pakistan and India ? Let us say, hypothetically, it is resolved: Do you think that this can be the catalyst for increased bilateral trade between the two countries? Or do you think there will be some lingering hostilities between the two major powers ? Advanced Thanks.

Not in my lifetime I don't think.

there has to be some lingering animosity.

On both sides there is an increasing religious polarisation as well.

That cuts deep more than any economic consideration and more irrational to deal with when it goes to the extreme.

Hi @Nihonjin1051

India believes it is economically & militarily superior to Pakistan hence it can hold Kashmir on gunpoint for as long as it wishes...but history proves every nation have ups & downs. If there is a will in India then yes Kashmir issue can be solved but unfortunately years of propaganda made Kashmir issue a matter of ego for these generations of Indians.

Yes, once Kashmir issue solved, I can see Pakistan & India coming closer & I can see trade flourishing across the borders. If you search online you'll find out that Pakistan's founding father & leaders wanted close relations with India(something similar to US/Canada) but due to Indian occupation of several Pakistani territories, the dreams of Pakistani leaders remains dreams.

India has loads to offer, do you have the will to take it further ? Like you say India dominates bangladesh, similarly what dominates pakistan ? imports and chinese products

Again your country your rules and your wishes
India has alot to offer and receive from pakistan too

Nothing is more dearer & greater than freedom, Mr Singh.

Jammu and Ladakh are Hindu and Buddhist majority so they will stay with India, I don't care about the trash people of the Kashmir valley.

Here is my reply,

Muslims Hindus Sikhs Buddhists
Kashmir Valley = 97.20% 1.80% 0.88% 0.11%
Jammu = 30.69% 65.23% 3.57% 0.51%
Ladakh = 47.40% 6.22% ------- 45.87%

Muslims are majority in Kashmir & Ladakh & many parts of Jammu. Overall majority is Muslims.
