Pakistan was not even created during Reza Khan ;) You are probably talking about Mohammad Reza.
So, basically what matters to you is whether they have helped Pakistan or not, regardless of how sick bastard he has been?:lol::lol:
It's very funny that Pakistanis criticize USA for seeking her own interests, while all matters for you is your own country interests.:lol::lol:

Don't put words in my mouth - I simply stated that I respect him for helping Pakistan in our time of need; I did not condone what he did or did not do to his own people !

Pakistanis criticize USA because the US Administration has a habit of thinking that the world owes them something & that something usually involves bending over backwards to accommodate them. They get into situations they do not understand & then they can't muster up the enthusiasm to see them through - Every single Conflict from Korea to the Iraq is testament to that !

If the US only follows what her Founding Father preached - Non-Interventionism...the world would be a better place !

If you want an American Opinion about the above then I'm sure you can listen to anyone from Noam Chomsky to Micahel Scheur !

.
Reza Pahlavi was also a dictator, like his son, but he did very important things to turn Iran from relatively illiterate nation during Qajars to a modern nation state, but he also did many wrong things.
In the former context, he is like Ataturk which did the same thing for transition of Ottoman empire to modern Turkey, but with more wrongs and mistakes.
Your mind is full with Pahlavi propaganda, who tried to demonize Qajars and boast about themselves.
I strongly suggest you to watch the video below:
BTW, Reza Khan and his son are responsible for all ethnic tensions in Iran. Reza Khan has the record of being the biggest thief of human kind. what he stole during 16 years, was more than Rockefeller's wealth. Even comparing him with Ataturk is a big insult to Ataturk. Ataturk was the man of law. He was educated, and did not seek to gather money for himself. He fought against Britain and France, while Reza Khan cried like a little girl, and handed over the country to Britain and Russians in a few hours/days.

What you said was very clear. Without sugar coating, the bottom line is that you only seek for your own interest, while at the same time, expect US not to do the same.
BTW, the world do owe big to USA, since almost every single technology that you are using is created by USA. from Internet to your beloved F-16s, ..., while your country has not contributed anything to the world.
The point is that USA has more power, so she can impose her own will on others, more than anyone else, and you are just jealous that you have not that power. It does not mean that you or your thoughts are better or more humane than USA ;)

I think the world is a triangle.

Ali ibn Abi Talib :'I am the slave of he who teaches me a single letter of the alphabet. If he wishes, he may sell me; if he so desires, he may set me free; and if he cares to, he may deploy me as a slave"'

...therefore i decided to:

Now i started to think what to do with you...

You are of course welcome to interpreting my words however you wish just don't bother me with your interpretations; I was having a conversation with @Serpentine & I do believe that he didn't interpret my words in quite the same manner !

As for the rest of your bile - Do keep it to yourself...I have neither the patience nor the inclination to sit through another one of your vitriolic diatribes !

Good Luck with your interpretations, your contributions & your sense of entitlement - I'm out !

Thanks for running away from the discussion ;) BTW, we all know what the truth is, so, maybe I should not bother to show the truth, which is already crystal clear for both of us. ;)

I don't defend either of them since Qajars were incompetent corrupt losers who only cared about their Herems and Reza shah, as you said, was a thief who did many atrocities, but also had some good works, like implementing some western methods and institutions in the country, like universities, modern banks, education centers, extensive railways and roads, many industrial plants and etc. But he was also a puppet and had a big mouth and also he was dictator.

I don't have a race oriented view like you to hate Qajars for no reason or love Reza shah for no reason, if we are to have a general view, both of them were bad rulers and did more bad than good.

PS: Except Mosadegh (which wasn't perfect either), this country has not seen a strong and good leader after Nader Shah and Karim khan, which means more than 250 years of bad leaders and this is a shame.

That's over generalization which leads to fallacy. Did you watch the video that I posted? I seriously recommend you to watch it. it is based on the recent exposed US documents which is extremely precious to be studied.
BTW, Mosadegh Al-Saltaneh, aka Mosaddegh, was a Qajar as well ;)
Anyway, Qajars did not have an ethnicity based policy. Iran was free of such sick mentalities from Safavid era to Qajar era, while Reza Khan introduced racism to Iran, which it was derived with the direct help and support of Nazis in Germany. So, instead of bashing me for my views to support my ethnicity's rights, you need to blame those fascists, but, you don't want to do so, because ....
Anyway, What Reza Khan did was either the direct order of Britain(like building rail roads) or the suggestions of socialists(like building Tehran university that you mentioned earlier). BTW, he enjoyed the oil boom while qajars did not have any money. Anyway, Qajars were men enough to stand against enemies and fight with them. even if they lost some wars, they fought like a men, and did not hand over a country in a few hours.

Mosadegh was a Qajar? Ok so what? Does it make Qajar kings any less losers? I don't know why you are obsessed with Qajar's ethnicity, I don't care who was Azeri, who was Persian and who was Martian and if I see an incompetent ruler, or a dictator or a coward, I'm not scared to announce it regardless of ethnicity.

Qajars fought like men? really? they lost nearly the current size of modern Iran to Russians and Britons. They fought wars, they were used to lose and in order to prevent Russians from capturing the whole country, they gave huge chunks of lands to them. What a bunch of real men. You fight like real men and lose half of your country, great!

As for Reza shah, his actions was also cowardice since he boasted about Iran's military and refused to fight the Allied forces (however he would never had slightest chance against Soviet military machine anyway), but don't forget that Iran didn't lose lands during his rule. I said in my earlier post that he also had a big mouth and no courage for foreign enemies.

To sum it up, both of them did more bad than any good and this is a fact.

First of all, you have said bunch of stuff that are lies. Are South Caucasus, and Herat equal to the size of Iran?
Anyway, it seems that you have very different definitions from being a man or being brave from other people in the world. for example, with your flawed logic, Imam Hosein was a coward as well, since he lost the war to a bigger enemy, and did not surrender like your wise legend Reza Khan, while every one else in the world, would appreciate what Imam Hosein did in fighting with the bigger enemy and call him a brave men, and not your Reza Khan.

Map of Persia 1814:

No one remembers or says they fought like men (while there were indeed people who fought like men and very few brave commanders like Abbas Mirza), people only remember they fought the 'already lost' wars and lost too much territory and like every other case in history, it's called incompetency. They started wars with Russia that was obvious that they'd never win and this isn't called 'bravery', this is called stupidity and they relied on French and British to help them in the war and thought they could win with their help, but as always, Europeans did the backstabbing towards Iran and left Iran alone against Russia.

And Reza shah is not 'my legend', I clearly said my feelings about him earlier, no need to play with words.

Why are you insisting in saying lies? Wars started when Russia invaded Qajar empire, which resulted in Golestan treaty. The funny point is that you hate qajar turks so much that you are even appologyzing for Russian empire. BTW, it was the peter the great who started the mess by his famous wills letter. For pete's sake, go read some basic history man, ...

BTW, I am saying that what you are saying is just bunch of non-sense which is generated by Pahlavi propaganda, and you are refrencing your words to uneducated people's words which is being imposed to these propaganda, and has zero scientific value.

Another face palm is needed:

About your map, it is a funny BS map. Hopefully, we are in a pakistani forum, and you can ask history educated Pakistanis to teach you whether Punjab, Afghanistan, Sind, Northwestern frontier, and Balouchistan have been part of Qajar empire or not.
@FaujHistorian Can you elaborate it whether Punjab was part of Iran or sikh empire was ruling during those times? Please elaborate about Balouchistan, and how local rulers(we call them Khan) were ruling baluchistan.
@Serpentine dude, as I told you before, your mind is infested with Pahlavi non-sense propaganda. FYI, we did not even have control on Sistan, let alone on Punjab ;) We later traded part of Sistan instead of a strip border region with Afghanistan which was Pashthun region.

In Farsi:
"Hattaa ma rouye balouchestan ham control nadaashtim, va dar vaaghe' az gharaardaad e goldesmit be ba'd boud ke ingilis balouchestan ra ba ma taghsim kard. ghabl az oun, dolat amalan faghat ta kerman ra dar ekhtiyaar dasht, va manaateghi mesle Iranshahr, ... jozve manaategh e taht e hakemiyat e iran naboud. ta inke Qajar dynasty va ingilis in mantagheh ra taghsim va ba'dan tasarrof kardand"

Seriously, learn some history dude. :disagree:

@Serpentine
BTW, In official maps of Qajar era, they usually did't use terms like Persia. During Qajar era, Iran was officially named "Mamaalek e Mahrouseh ye Qajar ya Mamalek e Mahrouseh ye Iran". So, Iran was either referred by these names or the translation of these terms. Using the term Persia is vague here. Even if the map is not fake, like other fake documents made by Pahlavis, it may refer to something else.

For 1814?

No Punjab was not part of Persian empire.

Some times people draw maps to satisfy their egos and thus the maps don't have to be correct.

First of all, thank you @Sinan, @usernameless, @revojam and @Azeri440 for your answers!

1-) Yeap... or you can go to your post with long hair...they will shave you there. :)
2-) Completly irrelevent..
3-) Random, you can't choose anything in military.
4-) This one could be issue.... taking meds is a bit hard in military. You should decleare your medicine while you are entering...At your post, they will take your medicine and lock in to the medicine box. When you want to use one.. you have to find medic sergant (revir çavuşu) of your unit (he will be one of your friends), he will unlock the box and gave you the pill. :)

Or, you can just smuggle in the pills inside your socks.... (benim de sokmam gereken bazı haplar vardı... hapları çorabın içine koydum.. onlarıda bavulun içine... o şekilde soktum içeri, askerliğim boyuncada yetti zaten. Yakalarlarsa el koyarlar.. o zaman çarşıya çıktığın zaman alırsın cüzdanın içinde, kredi kartının falan arkasına saklayarak sokabilirsin)

5-) Very very very low.. Only chance if you are selected as a Commando.... but you know "peace talks" going on so. :meeting:

Also, try not to make a scene...in front of everyone. If you have problems with an indivual.. get him while he is alone and nobody is around...There are depot rooms.... if you can get the key from your friend..... just drag the guy to depot, lock the door... and have your way. :D

Nahh... he can do...:) He say "I'm perfectly "normal" for 99.9% of the time."

There are people there psyho for 99.9% of the time. :D
I see - too bad that I, and thus also they, can't make use of my educational background during my service. I would gladly make use of my skills I got during my years studying at an university if it could provide anything useful for our military or nation, like working for free as a software engineer at state-owned companies or whatever, as long as I provide with something useful. I'm pretty sure that they would make use of my educational background if I were to serve in Sweden, but that's a no-go...

Smuggling my pills aren't really a reliable thing to do. Two-three days without my pills and I will start to get terrible withdrawal symptoms and it's probably not any good at the long-term.

My father and some uncles also did their mandatory service (for 3 months or so) while they were living outside of Turkey, and one thing i can tell from their accounts is that you're probably not gonna see much firing action with guns. This was ~25 years ago though. Are you going for 'full-time' service once you got your diploma? @Baykuş
I would hope to do full-time :) I've got the impression that those who do 3 months (or whatever it is nowadays) don't really get to have fun - they barely get to spend time at the shooting ranges according to those who I've asked.

@Baykuş Instead of asking here you should do it in trmilitary forums there are lots of professional army members there who can inform you better than us.
Thanks! I'll check it out.

if you are serious about 4 then I would suggest not joining
due to it being a conscription based force , you will have a lot of guys piss you off
They are welcomed to provoke me as much as they want to, as long as they can take the whopping that follows :dirol:
No, but I'm really not that easy to make mad, but it is what happens when I become angry that is concerning me.
