How a country of 20,770 sq km is more important than the whole region of almost 9,000,000 sq km ??
A country of the 8 million population is more important than the 350-400 million population of that region ??
A country of $ 280-290 billion GDP is more important than the combine GDP of around $ 3 to 3.5 trillion of that region ... ??
A country of defence budget of around $ 17-18 billion is more important than the whole region of having combine defence budget of $ 140-150 billion .... ??
A country of having trade volume of around $ 25-30 billion with US is more important than the whole of the region of combine Trade volume $ 250 to 300 billion with US. .... ???
A country which import energy is more important than the region which have 60%-70% of world oil reserve and 50%-60% natural gas reserve of the world .... ???
I can ask about the comparison of investment or job creation / support in USA by Israel and other regional countries.

It is not as much about which country or region has more importance, it is mostly about which set of international relationships serves US national interests the best. Of all the things that you mention, energy reserves are perhaps the most important, but much more so for other countries, so the leverage over USA is minimal. It took USA several decades after the OPEC Oil Embargo of the 70s to prepare itself to be free of this MidEast influence over it.

It is not as much about which country or region has more importance, it is mostly about which set of international relationships serves US national interests the best. Of all the things that you mention, energy reserves are perhaps the most important, but much more so for other countries, so the leverage over USA is minimal. It took USA several decades after the OPEC Oil Embargo of the 70s to prepare itself to be free of this MidEast influence over it.

Israel is the strongest, and the most stable and trustworthy partner USA has in the region to ensure that the stability of the status quo is maintained, plain and simple. This relationship keeps everyone else in the region in line.

I didn't get a chance to answer the other questions because you started debating me to justify the first. I haven't even had a chance to read them.

As for the monkey thing. Just think if we had the chance we'd pull all the scientists back to our shores...but they won't budge due to THEIR religious stuff getting in the way. So now we have a monkey to deal with.

It isn't our religious stuff. We wish they were atheists instead of getting mixed up in some religious turf war.
