Why are you so pessimistic?

The entire issue of Nawaz Sharif has been handled per the laws and processes of the country. He applied for bail and was granted it by the courts. He wants to travel abroad for treatment which requires his removal from the ECL and the the process has been followed in terms of review of his request by the Interior Ministry, NAB and now, with respect to the final decision, the Cabinet.

The cabinet has, so far, put in place very reasonable conditions that Nawaz guarantee his return as well as pledge his assets as collateral in case of turning absconder.

That said, I agree that the concept of post-conviction bail is wrong and that ALL prisoners should only be treated in Pakistan, but to address this issue we will need new legislation to plug the loopholes, and I don't see that happening with the PTI's extremely small majority in the National Assembly and minority in the Senate.

i think you have forgotten what the Prophet Muhammad SAW said that previous nations ended up destroying themselves as they have separate laws for the poor and the powerful. today the biggest criminal of pakistan is all set to go abroad while poor criminals are rotting in jail. either this fat pig should also rot in jail along with others or all others who have any kind of ailment should be released and allowed to go abroad for treatment.

Everyone's jumping down IK's throat over this when the fact remains that he's acting in accordance with the laws. He has put in very good conditions and lets see if the PMLN accepts them or the conditions are changed.

And like I said, if you want this to end, then support new laws that stop the courts from granting post-conviction bail and only allow treatment in Pakistan for prisoners.

Focus on advocating for change in the system to prevent this in the future instead of getting stuck on Nawaz Sharif.

You're giving him too much benefit of the doubt. He could easily play the populist card, delay things, appeal things, use presidential powers to over rule stuff. The very first thing PTI should have done was propose a new law in parliament to plug these holes, let it be shot down by the opposition and then you can clearly show how status quo parties are supporting corruption.

They could have made some cases against him in anti terrorism courts, for his shady dealings with India and association with SSP types - anything to hamper him and slow him down. Instead he's rolling over and having his belly tickled like an idiot.

I want him to play dirty - do what it takes to keep these people locked up and focus on winning a majority at the next election. These parties don't stand a chance with their main leadership under lock and key. No phones, no house arrest, no AC. Same treatment everyone else gets.

You give me the resources of government and I will find them for you and I will shut them for you. It is the duty of government to find and close these loopholes. Do they not have lawyers? Do they not have legal experts? Lawmakers?

Besides my point was unclear, i meant when he started making such appeals they should have tried to shut the loopholes, whilst delaying his appeals. Doesn't matter, it's not too late even now. Why not try now?!
