The issue was that people said that wearing high heels was basically asking to be sexually harassed, or showed promiscuity.

Ok, I didn't know about this, but this still seems like a bizarre way to raise awareness for such a serious issue. My problem with this method is that wearing heels is a very minor reason for why women are sexually harassed unless you have actual data to back up the fact that women are mainly sexually harassed for wearing heels.

I feel like they were far more meaningful and impactful to raise awareness for such a serious issue. Raising awareness for it like this is going to invite a lot of trolling which can result in greatly decreasing the importance of this issue.

It wasn't meant to be a solution, and that's where you're getting stuck.

Problem ----> raise awareness ----> lobby ----> raise funds ----> use the funds to put pressure ----> find a solution ----> solution.

Aren't funds raised after the decision has been made about which solution is to be implemented? In business, funds are raised after the decision has been made about which solution is to be implemented as the amount needed to fix a problem varies from solution to solution.

It's politics so funds are raised at every level.

A lot of business oriented people tend to make the mistake of thinking you can run a country like you can a corporation, you cannot. Companies/corporations are profit driven by their nature, while nations are supposed to be people driven; people work for a company, while a country is supposed to work for its people.

Also, regardless of the method, the stunt worked. You may find it absurd, but if it works then it's not a stupid idea.
