Can Pakistan Air force F-16 jets visit Sri Lanka?

.
IAF does not require any clearance from anyone. Our jets are outrightly purchased without any aid or donation so they don't come with any strings attached.

GB

For your information and for you to gain further knowledge without saying such dumb and stupid remarks all our aircrafts are purchased with our own funds no damn aid or donation think about what you say before you say it and keep you your damn hate inside do somehome work next time before you want to speak .

F16 was never intended to be an interceptor only plane for your information. It was meant to perform various duties like SEAD etc. And PAF does use them on combat air patrol duty also. (read 1999,2002,2008)
Currently the PAF have like, 14 thunders. You think they can handle the entire CAP?

well you need to furnish your knowledge and information. f-16 is one of very efficient multirole fighter that means it is an interceptor too and we use it as interceptor. and other thing at present we 22 jf-17 and about same numbers ready, so at end of this year we are going to have them in good numbers.

.
well basic purpose of il-76 was to refueling of jf-17 and fc-20 and other chinese jets.
and work will be done to make f-16 compatible to il-76.
other thing our f-16 have refueling capacity it was shown in red flag.

JF-17 would be a better choice for Pakistan since it's built in Pakistan; but it will be setting off the alarm in India :flame:

No reason why the JF-17s should not be sent to SriLanka.
Just that they (or any other aircraft) will have to fly 1700+ miles (approx 3450 km); avoiding Indian Air-Space to get there.
Is the JF-17 AAR equipped?

It is a matter of few hours to make it possible to send it by ship. They could send it faster in a herc. I do not see a big deal. And the block2 has inflight refueling. Only 9 months to go.

.
jf-17 ferry range;..........3,000 km (2,175 mi) plus fuel tanks so it can easily .....
if we planed to send then surely it would have something to counter indians.............:sniper:

.
Il-78 MP is an added advantage that is it can also be used for heavy lift transportation ,the capability which PAF lacked .the only lifters we have are C-130's along with handful of Cn-235 both of them are less capable to il-78 when it comes to heavy lift . So even if il-78 will not be used such extensively for refueling they will be used for heavy lift ,so thats an additional advantage ,you are getting a dual purpose aircraft in price of single capability .That is why PAF is also looking for the 5th Il-78 from Ukraine for which the airframe has already been reserved

Secondly there is no plan of PAF so far regarding installing probes to f-16's .so far it is not clear that PAF will go for some western aircraft for f-16's or not like they wanted to fit A-310 with such refueling capability but then due to different issues it was laid back .Even if PAF doesnot require any re-fueler for F-16 then may be PAF wants to use f-16's just for pint defence whereas jf-17 and FC-20 for deep strike in this case re-fueling will not be a dire need for f-16's

Pakistan Paid upfront for all it's f-16s.

Sir the question and the answer, given by our indian friends, were both bait. Better not entertain such shenanigans of their's and just ignore them.

On topic:
I remember our F-7pg being sent to Sri Lanka for bombing runs against the Tamil tigers. So wouldnt really have much problems sending our F-16s or JF-17s are far as their ranges are concerned.

the distance from karachi to colombo is less than 2500km. well under thunder's ferry range!!!
IF PAF wants them in lanka then u WILL see them there!

.
why do you want to send them to sri-lanka at the first place.

JF-17 should be sent for marketing purposes.

Yes but that would mean overflying Indian territory which is not gonna happen. Taking a detour around peninsular India will easily add 700-1000 kms more to the distance. Thanks
