So Indians are known for their long dicks?Hence the rampant rapes against women, especially the fair coloured?A mental illness of colonial rule?

You know there is some connection.:frown:
The average height of Indians is one of the shortest, shorter than any country in East Asia except North Korea.

LOL ... guys please let's not further derail into sanitation, colonial history, rape, heights or even dick sizes, these are socio-economic issues and better be discussed in say health or literacy/education related threads.

Back to topic, india is basically a rural, poor, country, and with a tiny and weak industrial fundamentals there is no way it can make bullet train or HSR in the foreseeable future. But it doesn't rule out the opportunity to use HSR with tech and financial assistance from foreign countries. Both Japan and China are exploring HSR with Modi government, await the results.

in the foreseeable future, the only way India can handle 200km/h+ EMUs is to buy rolling stock from abroad.
Given her very limited fiscal capacity, even upgrading existing railway to 160-200km/h like what China has done in 1990s is nearly an unconquerable mission. But if they change their work ethics, things may be different.
Let's wait to see how Modiji reeducates his railway officers.

@RisingShiningSuperpower Back to topic. Modi will have to use a lot of money for their century-old railway system which dates back to British colonial era. It's their privilege to inherit such a big railway system from British colonists, but now they need to spend more money to upgrade their existing tracks and then talk about 180-200km/h bullet trains.

Not possible. India only aspires to be the best. India will be a superpower by 2020. India will have indigenous bullet trains by 2020 as well.

Actually, the Chinese are bragging about their speedy junk, its ok, no one cares, I wouldn't ride in it anyways, only god knows what kind of reliability these trains have. Actually for India, we don't need bullet trains, waste of money, the cost don't justify the gains, we still have the second largest train network in the world. Best to increase average train speed to around 160-180km/hr and that's good enough. Need new tracks, new engines and new coaches, updated modular stations and new ways of managing ticketing/sales.
