I really like him (although many Indians including some of my friends hate him) or or Deng Xiaopeng??
How about people who worked within a democratic set-up and yet opened up the economy? How about a Prime Minister who was bullied by a military dictator and fought back?

When I was studing in Hyderabad, one of my senior (who completed studies) started looking for jobs. His experiences had a very very very deep deep impact on me. When I started digging into reasons of the state of economy etc, the conclusions I reached at are not pretty.
I have applied for over forty jobs in my career, got a handful of them. I have employed/hired around 5,000 people during my professional life. I have also taught.

Certainly you must have a lot of reasons for arriving at whatever conclusions that you arrived at. It strikes me that you decided what was what on a remarkably small sample. You might like to ask around a bit, even now.

A recent event in India also impacted me a lot, my talks with 2 of my friends have helped me concile myself:
1st friend: We, Indians, should compare India with african nations, not with China etc. That is the best comparision. Such a thought made me feel so much relief.
2nd friend: He explained some books by Naipaul etc.....felt relief too.
Good enough. End of story. So you read that bigot Naipaul and that is the end of that.

You fellas have endless motivation to go on and on.. o_O

In general, I am not proud of Indian history (please please say that I am wrong).
I don't see why one should be proud of one's history. It is a reality. I suggest being proud of other things besides one's history. I am proud that I have never knowingly harmed anyone in my life. I am proud that I taught myself about metals when I started working for a steel firm. I am proud that i taught myself programming in six months' time. I am proud that people loved to work with me. I am proud that I worked with top class organisations and top class directors and got known for doing a good job. I am proud that I brought up my daughter to be a good human being.

In my humble opinion, those are the things to be proud of. My history? It is. Nothing I do can change it. I don't see why I should take pride in it, or be depressed by it. Tout comprendre, tout pardonner.

You fellas have endless motivation to go on and on.. o_O

Shit! I forgot all about you!!

Just wait a minute, I'll tell them to let you log off.

You poor guy.

I don't have much reaction, as I forgot / can not recall most of that history.
So great. No reaction. You wanted examples. What for?

.
Again, a blank statement, but not the slightest effort to enquire.

If you don't have a point of view, if you don't question others' points of views, and understand them better, if you never try to explain to your people what you stand for, and why that is a good thing, why are you here?
Sir - Some of my friends that I know for 30 years can not see my point of view. I do not think it is possible for me to explain to any Pakistani or any indian. Political opinion of a person is rarely changed (if at all).

I hate Modi and the RSS; is that because, like Pakistani members, I am helpless?

My impression [forgive me pakistanis] - Pakistan had always (mostly) had a field day bombing India at will and getting away with it. Modi did some tit-for-tat. Behind the hatred (for Modi) of every pakistani is a realisation that India has changed and days are playing around are over.
Pakistanis - I am not trolling. This is my opinion.

Please explain, with examples. Are they all Brahmins? or all Rajputs? Banias maybe? Are these the people blinded by caste?
Not brahmins / Rajputs / banias. Caste belonging to telugu people.
Do we take it that therefore you are today looking for people of your caste to get ahead in life? Is there nothing else that counts? Have you given up on the constitution? On laws and law and order? on the courts?
The kind of riches that politics (i.e. political economy) is making possible is attracting caste based parties / politics very pervalent.

So that newspaper report has set your opinion many years ago, and you do not even know whether that was a sensible remark or a stupid one. I think. If you do know, why not share it with us?
In your opinion, what is the reason behind partition of India?

Engineering. JNTU - Hyderabad (more than 2 decades ago).

I forgot all those from my primary education.
LOL. I live in Kowkoor, near Alwal.

That makes you forty. And you've given up on life? :disagree::disagree::disagree:

LOL.

Do you see the absurdity of what you are saying, and to be saying it where you are saying it?

Pakistanis - please feel free to reply. I am left speechless.

Aha. We don't like Reddys, Kammas and <gasp> Velamas.

I don't agree with this. One great Indian conducted a thesis proving that mismanagement is reason behind bengal famine??
Can you give me the name of that Indian and his reasoning?

Got you. So if we sit on the sidelines, hands folded, and weep, things will change.

In your opinion, what is the reason behind partition of India?
In one sentence, or in two?

Do you realise what you are asking, so casually?

I'm genuinely mystified at the motivation that people have to write essays on internet message boards. Sometimes, I drop a few lines and get an essay in reply. I wonder if they expect me to read and respond to every point?! Haha. Why struggle with all the argument? I just wonder.

Don't mind my post 🤠

Not at all. To you, it is a few lines on an internet message board. To me, it is a struggle for the soul of my country.

Guess who takes these things in which spirit? :enjoy:

Don't mind my post.

BTW, talking to @jk007 gives me all the material I need to explain to you, to Pakistanis who are inclined to be friendly, to Pakistanis who are inclined to be neutral, and to Pakistanis who are inclined to be hostile, to every sort of member except those who carry their brains in their backsides, what is going wrong with India, and why people think the way they do.

So , the subcontinent decides not to learn from the mistakes of others . nice.
Some people mention kashmir, but I feel kashmir is a crutch and the animosity is deeper than that.
As someone said, a normal relationship between the countries strikes at the theory of hindus and muslims being perpetually incompatible. This is reflected in the comments of quite a few here.
Such a wasteful region.

The time to resolve the Kashmir conflict is before climate change forces a water war to break out. And the historic Indian aggression needs to end.

With asians there is a problem of lesser tolerance towards people of same/similar races or origins. india pakistan rivalry, rivalry between the two koreas, china taiwan rivalry. afghanistan pakistan also have a similar pattern. And I don't know if rivalry is the right word to describe, but arabs have been degenerative in their thoughts towards each other.

While rivalry might be a universal phenomena, asians have the tendency to blow it out of proportion.

Within asia, subcontinent can hold a distinguished position if it can learn to manage its differences. But it requires sensible brains, a long term vision which ain't existed ever since the introduction of british style of politics.

Of course animosity runs deeper than kashmir, if it is not kashmir, it maybe general treatment of indians muslims. While there are genuine reasons for animosity on both sides, for the most part it is exploited by vested interest on both sides.

It would be limited to internet trash talks not true hostility
Hostilities are territorial in nature
