Can Afghanistan offer ‘other Indus’ option to India against Pakistan?

Interesting, you seem to have a knowledge of Afghan Diaspora in US.

Unfortunately more than I should, complete waste of time -- let's say building bridges was largely unsuccessful -- the Afghan Diaspora sadly brainwashed and lives in an echo chamber ;-( -- it's even more disappointing than the Pakistani Diaspora

Agreed on the bold part that most of the Afghans have all these attributes. The same tweet (in essence) shared by majority of educated afghans.
Well i am still trying to find out even a single afghan who can tell us where they went wrong, instead of blaming Pakistan.

The problem with hate is that it in anything but the short term it is cancerous to the Hater -- the cliche that it consumes the hater is true.

Agreed. Hater will always put all his efforts in negative direction ( to harm others) instead of improving own-self .What Orwell said is 100 % applicable here -Nationalist (Afghans=not quoted just inserting) not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them."

Excellent quote -- made my day

Well credit must be given to Indian strategists -- masterstroke on their part.

I'm sure they're laughing over scotch in their clubs -- as they should be.

.
clearly building a dam can cause thirst, famine, ecological ruin when used as a weapon.

Form the cheering by Indians and Afghans and similar Articles written by Indians -- clearly show the intent and that there is a satisfaction with the intent.

Now -- I didn't tell you something u already didn't know -- so why the intellectual dishonest?

afghanistan does not have the capacity to use the water for agriculture. it is a country in turmoil.
the biggest bang for the buck us cheap hydroelectricity and drinking water supplies. that is not going to deprive pakistan of the water. i do not think afghans will starve their fellow pusthuns of water in KPK

people calling for revoking the IWT are at best sending a message to pakistan. the water in Indus cannot be stopped. the ladakh and kargil regions are too cold to use any of the water. pakistan knows it. we can dam the water for hydroelectric power generation. eventually we have to release it to pakistan

Again -- I just posted the piece.

The piece, and similar pieces have appeared in the Indian press on respectable sites.

Perhaps you will be try convincing them.

As for me: I'll believe the author's intent, if not capacity.

there is a lot of propaganda and chest beating for the present
there is a long term threat on the table if Pakistan does not mend its ways

so you are contradicting yourself:
the threat does exist?

pakistan's all weather friends Turkey and China steal the water of lower riparian states

what is to prevent India and Afghanistan from doing the same ? forgot about hurting pakistan. they might have to do it for their own standard of living

pakistan has to offer a path to avoid this. supporting terror does not good to your cause. as much as one dislikes pakistani establishment i am not for starving a poor farmer

economic integration is the only way out

pakistan's all weather friends Turkey and China steal the water of lower riparian states

What does that have to do with anything.

The question was is there a threat to Pakistan that can result in famine, ecological damage, thirst to Pakistan?

To prevent that:
1. it may result in the first nuclear war with India
2. with Afghanistan -- well I think there is no to comment

If you friends are thieves they will not stick for pakistan at a public forum

If we dam the Indus river for hydroelectric power generation there is nothing for Pakistan to do.
you will get the water. we will generate a lot of electricity

Pakistan cannot launch a nuclear war without any Indian military action

Yes -- run of the mill dams are allowed in the treaty and by International convention -- but that is the threat
I doubt it Pakistan relies on anyone for its defense -- the Jewish people have learned this, you can only rely on yourself -- but I can't speak for the Generals in the GHQ

Ofcourse it cannot -- Pakistan will be turned into a large parking lot -- however the Muslim civilization is not Pakistan: it stretches from Morocco to Indonesia. The Indian civilization is boxed in between Bangladesh and Pakistan; actually the Indian civilization is the only civilization to be confined to such a small land mass.

There will be no nuclear war -- simply because for a nuclear war, means the end of the Indian civilization.

The rough number that is needed for MAD by both India and Pakistan is 300 devices each. There is little doubt that both sides will achieve that in the next decade along with 2nd strike capability.

pakistan is opposed to any hydroelectric power generation project by India. the water available to pakistan will decrease over time. increasing number of J&K people will use some of the waters as their population increases.

israel depends on uncle sam for survival. without america israel will collapse over time. Look what happened to Lebanonese Christian minority.

starting a nuclear war because indus water flow is down by 10%
no one will support you

You mean all those companies that have invested in India will not pull the plug.

Read the "Sampson Option" by Pulitzer Prize winning author: Seymour Hersh

The Sampson Option is never meant to be unleashed -- but it keeps the world inline.

I assure you at the GHQ it is required reading.
