Can a common Indian visit Pakistan ?

yes a little bit but maybe him visiting Pakistan change is perception of Pakistan and Pakistanis in general
Why are we worried bout indians perception? how are things in Induia? good? I dont think so. India Pakistan B'desh all all alike or alreast similar in more wasy than one, no idea why some indians wonder bout pak as if they are from such a rosy, prosperous country.
As for him visiting. He can and should if he wants to. All are welcome esp. in Lahore. My town will never discriminate any tourist & at the same time we dont need to prove anything to anyone.

does that mean people of the book ?
they are regarded as ppl o f the book. No idea why anyone would think Jews are kafir. orthodox jew consider Muslims as those who worship one true god. There are always exceptions and exist anywhere. As for xtians, jew do regard them as idols worshiper and liable to death. Im sure modern jews dont follow traditional Judaism and may not go to that extent to labeling xtians as idolaters.

I have a desire to visit Pakistan. Primarily for the food and architecture in Lahore and the Northern Areas region for the mountains and lakes. Is that possible ? easy or difficult ? How does it work ? Any information would be helpful.

I have a Pakistani friend in Saudi. She lives and works there but is a Pakistani citizen and keeps visiting Multan every now and then. Can that help in any way ?

Visiting Pakistan is not difficult at all. In fact the situation of security is far better now than it previously was and with the new government's drive to promote tourism, this is definitly the high time to visit.

Now the important thing is that if you are non-muslim, then you shouldn't face any issues on either side of the border but if you are muslim, then take a minute or two to rethink your trip because upon return to India you will face suspicion from your authorites.

I guess you didn't read it clearly, come on it's not too hard. Stay in Punjab, don't say you know a female friend from Pakistan, Kafir mixing with momina is a big crazy thing don't go here or there, or disclose where you're from. A security would follow you around, just in case. Who in the right mind would go to such a place. Either your compatriot is lying, or it is the truth. If I'm judging, it's because I believe what your countrymen are talking about.

What are you babbling about....dude make a paragraph or two.

Saddened to read posts of a few members here. Happy to read those of some others.

I don't hate Pakistan, I just defend my country here from venom and hatred. It does get to me sometimes but that doesn't mean I hate Pakistan. I have met Pakistanis abroad and I got along with them just fine. No hatred whatsoever. In fact they were very friendly and that is what made me think of visiting at least Lahore. I know not all Pakistanis are venomous like some members here.

My Pakistani female friend calls me brother and I call her sister. I am in fact in a long distance relationship with an Egyptian American girl who is her best friend. Nothing more between us. Could that be an issue ?

Anyway, I do wish to visit Lahore at least. I will try to figure out a way. Thanks for all the help. More advice is welcome.

Is that true ? Indians cannot visit Northern Areas ?

My purpose of visit is not to meet her. I wanna travel alone. I might travel with her to only show me around if that helps. Is Lahore possible ?

no indians can not visit FATA - KPK - GB - AZAD KASHMIR AND BALUCHISTAN . YOU CAN ONLY VISIT PUNJAB AND SINDH WITH MENTIONS CITIES ON VISA .

However, if you have a dual citizenship, you can use your second passport to roam around in Gilgit-Baltistan

.
Yes.

FGS, Ahlul Kittab are still considered to be Kuffar, literally no Imam says otherwise.
can you give reference from quran clearly stating that Jews are kuffar & going to hell, please also reference teh hadith specifically stating that so that I stand corrected. Anything else is debatable and one is not obligated to follow it.

do you have any relatives or you are sikh ?
or else
The simple answer to your question is no, you cannot get an individual/family tourist visa for pakistan

Currently there is no tourist visa agreement between india and Pakistan. Visa are only granted for visits to close family members (for families split between the two countries in the wake of Partition) and for official/business visits for which there must be a sponsoring party. The business visa category has recently been enhanced and so more and more businesspeople are travelling between the two countries.

There was an agreement signed in the 2nd half of 2012 that would have made group tourism possible. It was supposed to come in force, if I'm not wrong, in Feb/March 2013. India unilaterally postponed the enforcement of this agreement citing security issues. So far I have not seen any development on this matter.

Unless visa is miraculously relaxed in the coming days, I don't see an Indian passport getting Pakistani tourist visa from the embassy in new delhi.

I would disagree, my mother and her family got stranded in Lahore on the way back, not only were they welcomed by the localites but also provided accomodation and they looked after them very well. My mother still speaks fondly about them and wishes she could return the favour. Don't let a few colour your opinion, by large most were friendly and even more so when they found out about us being Indians. These people stood as a testament for their country and any analysis which paints a picture purely black and white would be doing this humane characteristic on both sides a huge disservice.

If it helps you, to think that all of us do nothing all day but twirl our mustaches and plot Pakistan's downfall, then good for you mate, real life is rarely so simple. The thread posts should be relevant to the topic, else this forum becomes nothing but an echo box, if you are this biased on a seemingly innocuous question then are you not guilty of the same behaviour most members here blame on Indian trolls?

Where all did your family visit ?

It's actually depressing that people are asking for evidence on an issue that I assumed was well known. Never the less:

And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers. [3:85]

They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers. [5:72]

I would recommend you read Ibn Kathir's tafsir of the Quran (available in English) in order to develop a proper understanding of the Quran.
