I start my collection from holding a Canadian Force soldier at gun point demanding his CADPAT uniform (That actually did happen lol), then migrate to a cross spectrum of European Camo.

long story.........

Some CF guys came in one day to our base, which is designated "Safe Base" which have a policy of no firearms and weapon allowed beyond check in point. And those JTF2 guy trying to breach the perimeter without surrendering their weapon and hence we disarmed them. In the process they forgot to took their jacket and LBV back (or rather I forgot to gave them back ) and I took them lol.

There has been a lot of activity in the combat uniform patterns these days, but it all began with Canadian CADPAT pixelated camouflage pattern, which rewrote the rule book for combat patterns. US army seems to have really developed their combat patterns after their experience in Afghanistan.
But the best camouflage (in my opinion) belongs to the Russians who got inspired by the WWII "German" reversible camouflage style, the summer & autumn pattern. ...

Sure it interests me, thanks for tagging. The illusions they create to beat the human eye, same pattern creating different illusion when viewed from different range, both, suiting and serving the purpose of keeping the person hidden or camouflaged from human eye, this is all really fascinating. Specially considering that these are now even beating optical devices as in Night Camouflage designed to beat NVG.

Just for the record, Pakistan army moved to newer smaller pattern camouflage.

Not digital but using similar smaller patterns to be effective at both short and long range.

The Army Uniform factory is producing these and are being replaced. Will this be the new standard uniform? may be @Icarus can answer that for us!

Not totally, this new one is in production and is replacing the older one. What i meant to ask was will this be the new standard issue and all the old ones will be phased out. Also will this be it? no digital cammo for now? it will be better if we can get someone from the INSIDE answer this, @Icarus

I remember a picture in which there was nothing and you were insisting that this particular rock is a soldier well, had no means to prove it wrong so had to agree

Pakistan marines need to change their camo when they go out for foreign exercises

Here they stick out like thumbs on the shore

I heard the colors bleed and the modern dyes are not so modern. In long term would it be effective?

I ensure that if they can get the color combinations right, we will find a way to make those colors stay, no bleeding at all. The combinations and patterns are however being still worked at. Once done, finding ways to make them permanent wont be a problem, and, i say this being an engineer in textile processing/dyeing and printing.

What? Sir most of my family is in the army .. I live in a mil area.. The old camo has been replaced .. This is the NEW CAMO!! It's called a "multi cam"... even other countries includin US have moved away fom digital camos.. UCP itself was replaced in Afghanistan.
