Aren't you jumping the gun so to speak Salim? What if it was Zardari who knew she would lose, and opted to take this opportunity to remove her, and install himself as "chairman for life" of the PPP? A terrorist won't gain as much from BB's demise, as Zardari has.

So what? Actors in films try to "capture the moment". I'm not saying it couldn't be genuine grief. I'm just saying why are they always poor people crying over Bhutto in the streets, and that too when she robbed them of most of their money? These lot don't look like people with a serious interest in politics..at least serious enough to wail and moan like hyenas in the street over some politician that bankrupted the economy and stole most of their money.

I remember As Advaita philisophy Says that thoughts have universe-vanishing gaps between them. These universe-vanishing gaps made it universally impossible for thoughts to be connected to each other.Thoughts were not only disconnected but they were totally unpredictable. As Science would call this unpredictability their Uncertainty Principle.

Things that have a low probability of occurring form the basis of this uncertainty principle. To get two crazy poor women in love with Bhutto, a person who stole money from them, wailing and genuinely moaning in the street two weeks after she was killed, like they lost a relative would have quite a low chance of occurring. Not to mention the luck of having a camera there when they burst out crying and hugging each other. Have these two been crying non stop throughout the whole 2 weeks? I doubt it.

No doubt that there is quite a lot population in Pakistan who are die hard fans of Bhutto's legacy and their emotions can be real. The women in pic can be 100% fake or can be geniuenly sorrow..cant tell really!!

But the performance that deserves Oscar and Golden Globe, was the one given by biggest Drama Queen of all time: Altaf Hussain. I don’t know if anyone saw it on Geo after Benazirs death...it was so embarrassing and fake beyond anyone’s imagination.

I had heared in rural Sindh well there are some women groups who mourn over deaths against some payments. Mostly the Feudals hire the services of these groups to perform heart-piercing baan (mourn) over the death of some close relative to make it more tragic.

Well dont know how much it is true.

True, its still practiced in some parts of Sindh including Karachi...as a kid I witnessed this myself when a Sindhi friend of my family passed away in S.M.H.S in Karachi. I'd never seen anything like this before...

Well for an uneducated, die-hard supporter of PPP, her death is indeed something to mourn for weeks or months or whatever amount of time one may need. There are parts of Sind where BB has not done anything for the local population but people still support her. All in the hopes that her father's promise of "roti, kapra, makaan" will come true one day under he leadership (never happened in her two terms)..

Our nation is a jazbaati one by nature (primarily due to lack of education). In this respect, we are very unlike other South Asians. Everything in Pakistan is felt with jazbaat and the reaction is also just as jazbaati (no surprise there due to the fact that we have the lowest literacy rates amongst the major countries of South Asia (SL, India, Pakistan, BD - in the order of literacy rates). I suspect the actual literacy rate in BD is higher than in Pakistan.

Logic and Jazbaa together make an enviable combination, however Jazbaat alone lead to problems. Unfortunately we are nowhere close to using logic to get over these issues.

Uneducated masses in rural Sind, Punjab etc. have a very different view of BB than what you and I have. Perhaps this is the reason that these people cry as such.

It could be genuine..but then this should be enough proof that Pakistan isn't ready for democracy as yet.

I'd agree an uneducated person won't know much about economics, probably can't read, and therefore relies more on personalities, such as the Bhutto name (wow what a democracy).

I wouldnt agree that Pakistan's literacy is much behind the other South Asian countries though. You get these chairpeople for life all over South Asia in politics. It works because they have a title, a family name that gives them votes....the Gandhi family would not get so many votes if they weren't named Gandhi in all reality.

Perhaps some sort of voting system should be used where only those with a certain education and reading ability can vote.

And you are right these are found in Rohi (Pakistani area borders with Rajhistan)

"Rudali" is also a nice movie starring Dimple Kapadia.
