No cost at all. Bangladesh model is the ideal model to emphasize labor intensive, low capital industries to start with. Like garments, consumer electronics, hand tools, simple mechanical gadgets etc., Think of everything sold in Wal-Mart, then Home Depot, Then slowly, Costco, Best Buy, you get the idea. This is called going up the value chain. Exact formula followed by Asian Tiger countries (Japan, South Korea,, Taiwan and then China). and look where they are now.

What would Bangladesh be if one day corporations decide to shift their textile industry to another country? In fact a lot of that cotton comes from Pakistan lol. They may be enjoying their little boom for now but for how long and then what? I don't believe their economy is sustainable

We are capable of feeding ourselves. In this day of age where countries are taxing imports, having an agriculture is undervalued. Its the basic need of life. If there has to be a role model then look no further than Netherlands.

There is no country in this region including the Middle East that can grow grains, fruits and vegetables of all climate zones like Pakistan. Moreover, our food processing industry is huge and well known in the world. For now there is the issue of inflation and its artificial due to the fact that dollar is putting pressure on local currency just it has all over the world.

While we are not a major oil producing country, still a quarter of oil is domestically utilized and lets not forget Pakistan is currently sitting on one of the world's most shale oil and gas reserves.

Our energy is diversified as well. Currently we have nuclear plants, dams, wind turbines, solar plants, and coal plants and that is continuing to grow.

Our unique geographical location allows us to become a natural hub for trade between Central Asia, Middle East and South Asia. It happened in history and will only grow upon completion of CPEC.

All Pakistan requires is political stability and its citizens to stop hating on each other. Thats it! By the way, there is a huge difference between having Myanmar as your neighbour and having Afghanistan as your neighbour.

When businesses want to shift their production to another country, if strictly for economic reasons, that means Bangladesh has achieved higher labor cost and it is time to do something more valuable. May be hand tools, machine tools, electrical and electronic products, furniture, fancy items, software, etc., etc., In a way it is a good day if Bangladesh is no longer cost competitive for garments because they can then do something more valuable.

Pakistan's main issue now is food security. More food has to be grown to avoid imports and inflation. It is especially difficult in view of climate change. If a third of cultivable lands goes underwater periodically, what happens to agricultural productivity? And, Pakistan has to export more, a lot more, just to keep up with petroleum imports. Agriculture alone won't cut it.
