Businessmen selling factories due to failed Economic policies of Imported Government

But... but... the gov is business frinedly.

Completely false narrative. From being considered a Basket case in 1990s to being the leader among South Asian countries in Human Development Index and per capita income is no joke. This is in spite of population pressure, climate change risks and insurgency in next door Myanmar with attendant refugee crisis. Compared to that, Let alone Pakistan, which has become a basket case, even such formerly better country like Sri Lanka is in distress. Nepal isn't too good either. Bangladesh (along with Indonesia and Malaysia) show the path forward that an Islamic country without oil can remain peaceful, stable and progressive. Afghanistan and Pakistan have a lot to learn from and emulate Bangladesh if they want to avoid becoming the next Somalia and Sudan.

Do you understand the meaning of "dheet"? Thats what we are now.
Just hang some top politicians, burocrates and generals and you will see how Pakistan improves. We have everything from resources to people and a perfect location.

Two honest questions; not looking down upon what Bangladesh has achieved. In fact, what they have done is savvy considering their position and the unique political constraints and geographical limitations.

Sure there are lessons that can be learned from Bangladesh and implemented in relatively short order, but at what costs?

Second, is the Bangladesh model primarily a labor intensive one, build upon the opportunities created by the lack luster performance of its neighbors? Such that should these countries get their act together, they will attract back their “lost share” of the business.

In Pakistan, we live in world of mafia, establishment mafia, land mafia, judge mafia, lawyers mafia, bureaucrats mafia, industrialist mafia, Agriculture mafia, Urea mafia, Sugarcane mill mafia, wheat mafia, price control mafia ..... if missing any please add.... but no Pakistan love mafia.

I will wait and see. All official metrics indicate that exports are continuing to increase.

Hanging people won't fix anything. You need a statesman. May be like Jinnah. Maybe you should try getting a grandson or great grandson and crowning him as a king, not a constitutional king as in U.K. but a powerful king as in Saudi Arabia.

Yes it does. It fixes a major problem: lawlessness. People need to understand that nobody is above the law, thats it.

No cost at all. Bangladesh model is the ideal model to emphasize labor intensive, low capital industries to start with. Like garments, consumer electronics, hand tools, simple mechanical gadgets etc., Think of everything sold in Wal-Mart, then Home Depot, Then slowly, Costco, Best Buy, you get the idea. This is called going up the value chain. Exact formula followed by Asian Tiger countries (Japan, South Korea,, Taiwan and then China). and look where they are now.

Bhutto was executed, Zia "died in a plane crash", Benazir was assassinated. How did Pakistan advance after that?

What would Bangladesh be if one day corporations decide to shift their textile industry to another country? In fact a lot of that cotton comes from Pakistan lol. They may be enjoying their little boom for now but for how long and then what? I don't believe their economy is sustainable

Pakistan is not Bangladesh, Somalia or Sudan. In fact our economy is much more diversified. Do these countries have 4 seasons and different landscapes?

We are capable of feeding ourselves. In this day of age where countries are taxing imports, having an agriculture is undervalued. Its the basic need of life. If there has to be a role model then look no further than Netherlands.

There is no country in this region including the Middle East that can grow grains, fruits and vegetables of all climate zones like Pakistan. Moreover, our food processing industry is huge and well known in the world. For now there is the issue of inflation and its artificial due to the fact that dollar is putting pressure on local currency just it has all over the world.

While we are not a major oil producing country, still a quarter of oil is domestically utilized and lets not forget Pakistan is currently sitting on one of the world's most shale oil and gas reserves.

Our energy is diversified as well. Currently we have nuclear plants, dams, wind turbines, solar plants, and coal plants and that is continuing to grow.

Our unique geographical location allows us to become a natural hub for trade between Central Asia, Middle East and South Asia. It happened in history and will only grow upon completion of CPEC.

All Pakistan requires is political stability and its citizens to stop hating on each other. Thats it! By the way, there is a huge difference between having Myanmar as your neighbour and having Afghanistan as your neighbour.

When businesses want to shift their production to another country, if strictly for economic reasons, that means Bangladesh has achieved higher labor cost and it is time to do something more valuable. May be hand tools, machine tools, electrical and electronic products, furniture, fancy items, software, etc., etc., In a way it is a good day if Bangladesh is no longer cost competitive for garments because they can then do something more valuable.

Pakistan's main issue now is food security. More food has to be grown to avoid imports and inflation. It is especially difficult in view of climate change. If a third of cultivable lands goes underwater periodically, what happens to agricultural productivity? And, Pakistan has to export more, a lot more, just to keep up with petroleum imports. Agriculture alone won't cut it.
