What's new

Burqa for women is becoming a less popular choice of dressing, replaced by Shalwars Kameez with

If you had brains, you wouldn't need to comment with what you did, because you will get the point. But ignorance is definitely bliss :)

Cultural norms? The culture for a Muslim is Islam. If you mean you are something other than a Muslim and the culture is as well, then by all means but let's not project our personal ignorance on to the masses?

The culture we have in the diverse region of Pakistan are based upon the principles of Islamic faith.
Do noy confuse the guidence given by islam with cultural norms and practices. The cultural practices we have are in result of the environment we live in and the guiding principles if islam.

This confusion has always been a geart misconception in communities which follow islam.

Fractally speaking Zarvan is correct, that is natural evolution to move to something more user friendly however if we are to present a progressive trade friendly country then we must make it adapt to our culture. Unless you want to become a Yemen or Afghanistan.

I like the duppata solution, this is how our elders did it and they are the best of us.

Another 20 years and Pashtun will catch up. At the moment Afghan influence is strong so this community looks to them for cultural inspiration. Hopefully when Pakistan takes off the rest of the country will catch up.

You're saying that like you've seen the future 20 years ahead lol.

Maybe Islam will spread and Hindus will be wearing Hijab and burqas in 20 years.

Maybe. I am just hoping for the best case scenario.

I would like to go full Attaturk but I know at the moment that is impossible. I know Indus mentioned this in another thread when discussing evolution of Japanese dress.

That's not true. Many cultures in Pakistan are opposite of Islamic teachings.

In fact, many customs and cultures of Pakistan are straight from Jahiliya and Hindu filth and has nothing to do with Islam.

Maybe. I am just hoping for the best case scenario.

That's the worst case scenario. Pakistan was made in the name of Islam and i hope it stays like that.

Anyone who wants a secular state should go to India or West.

This is good... burqa has no place in modern society.

Who the hell cares?

Chill, don't get your panties in a bunch.

That is a very sexist thing to say unless you wear panties yourself which would be very progressive indeed.

As a respectable Muslim woman, as long as our ladies are well covered according to Islam's teachings, nobody should have any issue with it.

On contrary, I have issue with the following. Because apparently you are wearing hijab but your dress in inappropriate, which Muslim ladies shouldnt wear.

Therefore, I will prefer if they wear shawar-kameez over the above dresses, which doesnt reflects that you're a Muslim.

That is not inappropiate my friend. It is your dirty mind seeing things that aren't there. You should fix your dirty mind and stop eyeballing your sisters.

They make so many changes to their lives so dirty minds like yours don't get carried away. Its not them thats the issue, its you.

We don't need to know your foul deviant fantasies here, you being gay is your personal life and nothing to do with Pakdef.

How did you end up with this conclusion i would like to know.

You were banned previously for threatening to distribute lewd videos of woman for political revenge. Need i say more Mullah boy?

This is what happens when you are hell bent spreading lies and distorting facts. Burqa was never popular in Pakistan what vast majority prefer is wearing Abaya and many also cover face. I work in University and interact with others also. Abaya is number one choice because maintaining dupatta is really difficult task.
Yup I noticed the same in Karachi. In fact, with the exception of entertainers/celebrities, the norm on the streets, malls, etc (including DHA/Clifton) was the abaya.
