By the way this is IMF which is helping Bangladesh to update its economic base year to 2005 from 1995 which you may see a massive rise in GDP... n per capita gdp in between 1100-1400 usd at least.

The countries which maintain 1995-2000 base year are mostly LDC countries. But no country witnessed such a big change in their import, export or remittance earning and emerging of private sectors.

N to remain in LDC is not to get aid but to get preferential advantage for export. Now aid account only around 2-3% of Bangladesh if I am not wrong... in 1990 it was around 90%.

YOu are actually right, we cheated the world by adjusting PPP factoring in 2005 so that we can remain as LDC through PPP income.

How come ..per capita GDP will be much higher than per capita income in a third world country like BD. In a developed nation these could be nearer but per capita GDP will always be higher than per capita income so far I understand.

Bangladesh atleast want to remain in that status up to 2015 when LDC status of different country will be reviewed and for the next couple of year another advantage will be given ... after getting the advantage Bangladesh will withdraw from LDC. Though government is saying to adjust the base year within a year.

PPP factoring was same as IND and PK before 2005. It was changed in 2005.

We have a lot of $hit about politicians but they usually dont mess with statistical data. All the planning is based on those data so finance ministry and planning ministry dont buy distorted data.

This is not about feeling better or not but bulk of the emerging private sector which is contributing heavily to the national economy is not counted in the GDP. This a fact and by upgrading to 2005 base year they will be included in the GDP.. 500 usd or not definitely this will give a big boost to the per capita gdp...

N not to mention in Bangladesh 42-82% of the economy is black which account 50-100 billion usd. It should also have a affect on GDP.

No, what I'm saying is that this sounds like more wishful thinking. Anyone could come and say "our actual GDP is $500 higher or $2000 higher or $5000 higher in PPP terms". The statistics show that your per capita GDP was 678 for 2011. That's the statistic.
