NEW DELHI: Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Russia, unprovoked firings along the international border by Pakistani Rangers has killed two Indian civilians and injured two BSF jawans in separate incidents. An Army interception also indicated that Pakistan Rangers had plans to use a rocket propelled grenade to blow up the ambulance sent to fetch one of the injured jawans.
Unlike last year, BSF restrained itself on the orders from New Delhi as it was felt that Pakistan forces were trying to provoke them in a bid to derail the peace attempt initiated during the meeting between Modi and Sharif. Security forces also suspect that it is an attempt by Pakistan to first engage India in cross firing and then blame India for firing during Eid.
At many places along the border, BSF troops complained of "restlessness" for "not retaliating" to Pak provocation.

I agree. I thought Doval had enough brains to not fall into the classic pakistani trap of claiming that they do not have control over their army.

If they do not have control, what is there to talk about ? What good is the talk ? Rubbish.

India need to hold pakistan accountable for all that they do. Army or civilian.

Just shows that Modi is not a magician.... India is always meant to be a sheepish nation in the Kashmir conflict, not much can change about it.

There is no "kashmir conflict". The conflict was resoled during the shimla agreement.

Only Terrorism needs to be resolved now ......... and that will not stop anytime soon. Only an implosion of pakistan will stop that. India needs to work towards that.

This seems to be part of blow hot and cold tactics that India seems to be adopting. Every year, for once, we'll cool down and after a while things will be back to normal (under Modi).

Considering the expected Pak u-turn from every commitment; however, as the GoI statement states, India will go by by the language of the joint deceleration and not statement.

Give them some time to hang themselves, its not as if we are in any hurry.

Its more relevant to discuss the Baluchistan conflict. Its about time pakistan stop occupying baluchistan and paktunistan.
