ANGRAIL: Days after advocating a nationwide ban on cow slaughter, Home Minister Rajnath Singh today asked BSF jawans deployed along the Indo-Bangla border to put a complete halt to smuggling of cattle to Bangladesh so that people there give up eating beef.

I am personally amazed at the level of lunacy in elected ministers in India nowadays :disagree:

Or maybe this is cheap publicity - everybody wants their fifteen minutes of 'saffron-fame' seems like...

The amount of strokes and pulmonary disease will hopefully come down if red meat gets expensive. What about lamb and goat??

He should ask of BSF to stop all sorts of smuggling, on all the borders. Drug smuggling has actual negative influence on populace and economy. Stopping cattle smuggling would not only jack up prices in the BD, but also affect livelihoods of many in India.
