British woman jumps from Agra hotel to escape sexual attack

@Srinivas Leave it buddy. I have asked Moderators and Admins that rules are broken over threads on Banned topic like Rape.

They don't want a sticky thread where we can discuss the problem rather than people bashing Indians.

I have asked everyone to make a sticky thread so that I can post everything from aspects like criminal psychology, social environment etc. behind crimes against women.

They don't want constructive discussion on a problem which is not only in India but also in their own country and rest of the world.

Its all about taking cheap shot. Don't reply them in similar way. You will be banned. :enjoy:

So don't waste your energy. :D

Really?! Where was this spirit of "constructive discussions" when it used to come to other countries?
And yes, rape happens in all country but when it turns into a frequent phenomenon like in India, you lose your right in generalizing here.

Yes, lets trivilaise the issue of sexual abuse of women, lets look at the media outcry of indian media and civil society and live in the happy world where sexual abuse of women happens in India alone :)

Doesn't matter where this happened...what matters is that something like this is happening and needs to be stopped:)

Salaam to all the Muslims,

:pakistan:

Sickening. I think the underlying cause for this is that because majority of Indians are sexually molested in their childhood, they're mentally disturbed for rest of their lives., thus such heneious behaviour.

What's more disturbing is that how so many Indians here refuse to condemn this Culture of Rapes in India.

Salaam to all the Muslims

Indian parents are silent witnesses of child abuse
Saturday, April 14, 2007

NEW DELHI: Parents are often silent witnesses to abuse of their children due to conservative views about sex in India, a government official said on Friday.

A study earlier this week revealed that two-thirds of children in India are physically abused while more than half have faced some form of sexual abuse.

The study - which questioned almost 12,500 children and parents across 13 of India’s 29 states - found that half the cases of sexual abuse were committed by persons known to the child or in a position of trust and responsibility.

“I think the study is like heaving a sigh of relief because it’s something that parents knew but they wouldn’t voice as the culture doesn’t permit this,” Renuka Chowdhury, India’s minister for women and child development, told Reuters in an interview.

“A lot of them have been silent witnesses to a lot of things. It’s more like drawing the curtain aside.”

She said parents often did not know how to confront a family member who was sexually abusing their child.

“Parents are also in denial as they don’t know how to remove the uncle, for example, as perhaps he’s contributing to the family coffers or he has a dominant role in the family.” Chowdhury said sex was still a taboo subject in many family homes. “I don’t understand why we shouldn’t talk about sex when we have a one billion population ... obviously everyone is occupied with it. That’s just hypocrisy,” she said.

Chowdhury criticised the decision by three Indian states, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, to ban sex education. “Sex education does not mean you are encouraging sex which is how it’s interpreted,” she said. “Sex education is an insurance for your child. It will protect your child.

“It’s creating awareness of a child of the physical transitions that happen when they enter their reproductive years and so they will also know how not to be exploited or misguided by some pervert standing outside their school.” reuters

Do you have any statistics to prove that?

Do you know the rapes i South Africa per year is more than India and there is huge difference in population. India is a population of 1.2 billion. What's your country's ?

Of course, discuss India, but note that Indian media focus on it, and we have passed Anti-Rape bill. Can you say about your country ?

On the other hand there is case of Hindu girls and women raped and converted in Pakistan. But if we dared open thread on it, they get closed along with a warning/infraction.

Wait for it. Tourism in India will decline sharply.

That thread was deleted, and the Indian member who started that thread was banned.

WOW. not surprising though.
this kind of news is very important for the pakistanis Psychological well being. the small problems in india helps them forget about the enormity of the mess their country is in. for eg, in india a rape suspect is put under non bailable arrest. but, did you know that in pakistan after a women has been raped, to prove her charges in court she needs to bring at least 4 muslim men as witnesses, or else she will be jailed for adultry? for this reason, 99% of the rapes in pakistan are not reported.

.
This is NOT a comparative analysis thread.

Ok so what is it ? It's a social issue thread so how is discussing similar social issue in Pakistan is bad idea when it is in fact much severe an issue there? People always look for easy escape routes for their problems and bashing India works as charm to vent out one's frustration!!

.
For the Indian members playing all innocent and saying "Pakistani's are so mean to us"
C'mon guys, you know the game.
Indians post things about terrorist attacks and bad economy to bash Pakistan with and Pakistanis post rape threads and poverty threads to bash Indians with.
Neither one of us is innocent so lets just accept this game and move on because it sure as heck is not going to change.

.
@Rusty Its about the rules and bending it. But there has been a sticky thread created for such crimes in entire South Asia.

Opening up multiple threads on a single topic shows how seriously people want to discuss the topic. It just degrades the quality of the forum, nothing else.
Yesterday one thread was opened in senior's cafe to have serious discussions on the issue.Still to see any senior members/think tanks to post their views their who are randomly trolling in other threads.Simple words "disgusting".

posting rape threads to bash is absolutely disgusting attitude .... Indian posting about terror attacks and bad economy was not against forum rules only until recently .. While forum rules are conviniantly bent to start rape/poverty threads .. Mods should just come straight and tell the rules apply to Indians alone...
