They adopt to western lifestyle. Forget language. Eat pork. A lot of them even drink alcohol. They dress proactively and use many bad words when they speak. It seems like they transform to pigs. In US there might be a few Pakistanis that tend to act white and change their culture, but overall I feel like US Pakistanis are closer to the nation and religion.

@Moonlight
Actually i have observed the reverse to be true British Pakistanis tend to stay close to their roots and take pride in their nationality they will never allow a clown like Trump to demean them without a legal fight :D

.
Lol.

Is anyone actually taking @lastofthepatriots seriously here?

Dude, I have lived nearly all my life in the UK and can tell you that UK Pakistanis generally stick to their roots. The rate of intermarriage between Pakistanis and other groups is very low. White British people are very open-minded when it comes to interracial relationships and so if British Pakistanis were as westernised as you have claimed, then nearly all of them would be marrying white people!

I dont know why he hates them i always found them to be the more connected with their roots as compared to Pakistanis in US and Canada

My experience has been the opposite. The American Pakistanis I've met tended to be more far more liberal in their lifestyle, while the British Pakistanis, on the whole are far more conservative than Pakistanis even in Pakistan. And I've seen Pakistani diaspora from a lot of countries of the world.
US Pakistanis = comparatively well off folks from cities who mainly migrated in the 90,s
UK Pakistanis = folks from humble rural backgrounds who mainly migrated in the 60,s

Another overlooked factor in addition to yours is that the U.S has always been a melting pot of different cultures where Pakistanis could very easily settle down in to. While on the other hand, when the early British Pakistanis came, they faced virulent racist skin heads in an overwhelmingly White society, with groups like NF and BNP at their peak. A lot of gang culture that developed amongst British Pakistanis has its roots in the days of when young British Pakistanis started to organise themselves to defend their neighbourhoods. I guess it's easy to generalise others when they don't know the circumstances.

. .
This is true for a lot of British Pakistanis, although we all don't fit in to this category. There are plenty of communities and individuals who aren't completely useless. There's a north south divide even among British Pakistanis, here in London our communities are nowhere near as bad, even the mayor of London is from our community.

You mention north-south divide. Is it true that in north of england the pakistanis are mainly mirpuris from azad kashmir and they live in their own ghettos with their biradaris.

As far as I can tell that's a correct assessment. Mirpuri community is by far the largest among British Pakistanis and is most numerous in West Midlands and Yorshire (particularly places like Bradford). Plenty of Pakistani communities in the North could be categorised as ghettoised, you can walk down a road for a mile or two in some parts of Birmingham or Bradford and only see Pakistanis walking the streets, Pakistani shops and businesses.

These are supposedly some of the oldest British Pakistani communities, they were established in the 1960s and 70s, when men were brought over from Pakistan to work in industry, those industries died soon after leaving most of those men unemployed while settled in a part of England facing long term economic decline. The strange thing is that one would expect that almost all Pakistanis in that community are second or third generation immigrants. A large chunk of them are first generation immigrants, there's a steady flow of them to their own communities, due to culture, immigration and marrying from Pakistan. Rather than integrating and assimilating, the communities are increasingly isolated from the outside.

That's a valid point. Europe has historically been relatively ethnically homogeneous, whereas the US is built by immigrants. Our lot faced way more discrimination in the 60s and 70s. And it was also their misfortune to be brought to the UK as labourers and workers, and then left on their own to become unemployed as the industries they were to work for are completely gone.

Is it bad that I'm not too keen on Mirpuris :P

I don't bring up the subject usually or discriminate much, I think if any other British Pakistani community had experienced the same situations as them, we'd be talking about them instead and it wouldn't be too different.

Exactly. Of course I am not negating the fact that we also have a lot of fault, especially in the north, of not doing enough to broaden our relationship with other communities, but I personally feel that the 90s saw an improvement in community relations amongst British Pakistanis and White British. However, the race riots of early 2000s really did set us back. Certain other actions perpetrated by the low lives amongst us, such as the grooming gangs etc, have really done us no favour either.

British Pakistanis still have a lot of work to do, especially in the Northern mill towns/cities, some of our elders really have a tribal mentality that they have tried to bring in politics that hopefully the younger ones can negate as they continue the trend to pursue higher education and broaden their personal relationships with other communities.

I am aware of a political issue that could have ignited sectarian tensions in Bradford that I would not like to go in to too much detail here, but thankfully the younger British Pakistanis and other elders with cool heads prevailed and prevented this from happening. That could have been really awful if the issue got out of hand before it was nipped in the bud.

You probably had a bad experience with some chavy type. It's not a Mirpuri thing, more a chav one. Trust me, I used to feel the same way as you.

Despite the fact that people came for labour, it's certain practices and rituals or even school of thought which I find really odd. To be fair Pakistan has moved on whereas they're still stuck in old ways.

British Pakistanis are a waste of life and super embarrassing.

That was a grievous insult to many on here and you made no distinction between anyone, hence including families. I've banned you for it. "Waste of life" I don't know what to say to that. What's worse other Pakistanis thanked you for it.This certainly can knock the unity between us.

Arab Muslims follow Islam very well in US, but their weakness comes to fast food and white girls.

Take or leave it. I don't mean anything disrespectful, just a simple observation. And If you don't agree, I encourage you to come live in nyc for 1 year and tell me I am wrong. :D

I have plenty of cousins that live in the UK.

Listen Lahori, just because your city may be a certain way does not mean our areas are the same way as yours. Lahoris are practically Sikhs. Other than coming to shop for clothes, do you think Punjabis from any part of Pakistan give you respect? We consider you animals.
UK is like a mini Pak .. millions of Pakistanis.

The only place, in EU , u see Pak wearin kurtas and women in burqas..

And like any community, anywhere... there are bound to be a few scumbags.

@Saif al-Arab is right... UK Paks are very religious.. even their top religious nut is anjam ch..
