British Pakistanis from my extended family are more conservative and less educated than the other members of our family. Now there are one or two exceptions but generally this is the case.

My cousin currently in the U.S visited them and this is what he told me about there average day.

I only studied in the US for some time so I am not an authority on how Arab Americans behave as I have only engaged with a few of them while studying in the US. But honestly (no bias here) I would be surprised to hear that they are (on average) much different to the average Muslim American. You will have a few bad apples (depending on your world view) and then the average Ali, Muhammad, Abdullah, Ibrahim etc. doing his thing. I might be wrong here but that was at least the impression I got when in the US.

Maybe they have watched too many videos of that Yemeni American dude with that popular Youtube channel. Can't recall his name right now. The one that has a extremely cute niece. Reema I think is her name.

The Arab Muslim community is really laid back with a few exceptions, maybe it's the influence of all the Lebanese
But on a serious note it's very common to see very "westernized" Arab Muslims in America which is in large part due to all the discrimination after 9/11 but in private you would be surprised by how in-tune we are with our culture and heritage.

American Pakistani's are a really cool bunch though, a little uptight but a very good community. The funniest dude I have ever known was an American Pakistani and surprisingly he is also one of the most devout Muslims I have ever met.

I think british pakistanis are conservative and tribal because they mostly came from backward regions and villages.The first generation was almost all illeterate.Not many pakistanis in UK came from cities like karachi,lahore and islamabad.

Vast majority of Pakistanis arrived in Britian during the 1950s and 1960s from the rural heartlands of the Potwar and northern Punjab rural regions. The reson as to why many came to the UK from this particular part of Pakistan was because of the Mangla dam. Many Pakistanis from this region were compensated as some had lost their homes and land due to the construction of the dam. At the same time Britian had opened its doors to its common wealth nations inviting workers from Pakistan India Carribean to work and help rebuild Britians economy after the devastating Second World War. Hence many young Pakistani men from the rural areas of Mirpur and Punjab travelled to Britian in search of work. The vast majority ended up working in the already fragile textile industry of the cotton mills and factories of Lancahsire & Yorkshire (norther England) and Midlands. Most of these Pakistanis were traditional farmers and didn't have a stable education (secular & Islamic), nor did they have the experience of urban lifestyle. Many kept to their traditional village tribal customs such as the Biradari system. Unfortunatly village tribal customs have clashed with British life and many issues have arisen such as forced marriages, honour killings, poor education attainment, lack of integration and crime. These bakwards antics have had a serious backlash whereby the White British citizens have blamed the cause of such problems committed by Brit Pakistanis on Islam. When in actual it has absolutely nothin to do with the faith of Islam or even Pakistan. The ultimate blame is upon the Pakistani community of Britian who still revert back to certain backward cultural village tribal manners, behaviour and antics.

It is complete utter bull crap that Brot Pakistanis eat pork. We have our own certified Halal monitoring committee based in the UK known as HMC. Most fast food outlets and restaurants owned by Pakitanis and Bangladehis buy meat products from HMC approved butchers. Some Pak youth may consume alcohol and drugs due to a gang mentality but many many Brit Pakistanis are conservative who have strict family ties and upbringings.
