It is sad to say but the fact she was a teacher is probably something to do why this is high-profile. Women like her with middle-class

To be honest female rights have taken such a centre stage I'd say even if she was a waitress the outrage would have been great. But yes being a teacher has added to the anger.

While I think some aspects of female rights has gone too far, there should be zero tolerance when men use violence or intimidation of any kind on females.

Bro it's very dangerous for women on the streets at night. They should never go out alone. That's a result of poor punishments, lack of police patrols, the rise of violent sexual pornography etc.
We wish we could have streets like Singapore, the UAE, Japan and so on.

Despite the welcome reforms that have made woman more or less equal with men in law, there is still that residual sexism in Western society that still holds women in contempt and there for the abuse and pleasure of men.

Not sure what the exact solution is as the UK, along with most Western countries, has more or less abandoned Christianity and so it will be quite difficult to have the needed cultural reforms, as punishment and law enforcement can only do much against the mindset of substantial portion of the male population. Maybe, much more of a focus needs to be put in place in schools with boys and hope at least some of it sticks when they become men.

Hardly the fault of the majority of women who were born in this society/culture not of their making and are now stuck in a society that while giving them equal rights, in some cases more rights, treats them as inferior and subject to intimidation and violence from males.
