Yemeni military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sari announced today (Tuesday) in a statement the details of the attack on Saudi territory.
"By relying on God, we have launched a major offensive operation named 'fourth deterrent' against the Saudi enemy capital," Yahya Sari said.
"In the operation of the fourth deterrence, the Ministry of Defense, Intelligence and the Salman Air Base and some military positions in Riyadh, Jizan and Najran were crushed," Sari said.
The statement added that the operation was carried out with a large number of "Quds" and "Zulfiqar" ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as UAVs.
He stressed that the operation was carried out in response to the brutal and aggressive siege against the great Yemeni people.
The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces said at the end of the statement that "we warn the enemy of any continuing aggression, crime and brutal siege." He also stressed that we will carry out stronger operations until the siege is lifted, the aggression is stopped, freedom and independence are achieved.
The statement came just after news sources reported the sound of an explosion in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, this morning
