Good progress but India China et al should be cautious in how they do this . Especially China which is excessively dependent upon the western economies for their day to day survival. USA is pushing hard on moving manufacture to onshore and friendshore . Friendshoring within BRICS world is good for both sides - just moving out of China to India and others. But massive onshoring can cripple China further.

There are already some America based people saying that 'Europe' is not a real or separate continent. It is part of the Eurasian continent and there is no reason Europeans should'nt look east. The East is where there is huge land, large populations, and huge natural resources; call it a soft 'Lebensraum'!
But Europe is still stuck in the centuries old mindset of race and religion. True, the 'Western Civilization' is distinct and a pinnacle of human achievements, but there is too much exclusivity in that mindset. The mindset should not be a 'Good European' anymore, which my avatar pic Nietzsche wanted to be. But a 'Good World Citizen'.
So, here is to the Soft Lebensraum!

According to data from the IMF, four out of the top 6 countries in the world by size of PPP GDP in 2028 will be in Asia, relegating European economies to lower ranks.

China's and India's economic growth has been steep since the 1990s, while Indonesia has more recently entered the top 10 of the biggest economies in the world and is expected to reach ranks 6 by 2028. Japan, an established economy, is expected to cling on to rank 4 in 2024, while Russia will fall to rank 7.

Asia’s burgeoning middle class is one of the reasons for the continental shift in GDP. While China had been the posterchild of market growth for much of the 21st century, the country is now tackling an ageing population, which will put a damper on consumption. Indonesia, together with the Philippines and Malaysia, are expected to grow their labor forces significantly in the years to come, contributing to a rise in average disposable incomes, according to the World Economic Forum.

Asian multinationals, like China’s Huawei and India’s Tata, have already emerged in this century and more are expected to appear on the global scene. But rapid growth in Asia also comes with its own set of problems, like a quickly growing divide between rural and urban incomes, environmental degradation as well as the new challenge of population decline

What can Egypt add to BRICS? Their economy is in shambles. Mexico will be a better partner.

Mexico is bound by the NAFTA not to join anything with China, Vietname, etc.

Until and unless there is more interdependence of Asian economies, where one comes to another's help like West does for one another (economically more than militarily in near future), any such groupings will be only creating hype.

I know this is impossible in current situations, but its high time Asian economies realize that closer cooperation and alternate systems for this side of the world with respect to payment transfers in a seamless manner only will make such groupings a success.

Infact Asian side should also bring in Africa and Middle East as well over time, which of course is happening with few major countries getting in. The aim more than countering West should be to create parallel systems, such that the world doesn't depend on just one mode of payments.

Europeans have a great standard of living with lots of economic/political freedom. Why get entangled with likes of Russia ?
What good is money if you cannot enjoy it ?
