#BREAKING: US Navy destroyer came under attempted missile attack in intl waters off Yemen, ship not

I am afraid the facts seems to tell the tale otherwise. The recent order of Tanks from US is the clear example out of which 20 tanks are replacement for the one lost. Fighting a war and sustaining is by no means an easy feat my dear.

Dear, please take a look at my previous posts in this thread, take a look at the Yemen thread on the Middle East and Africa section of PDF or better take a look at the ground realities.

KSA/Arab coalition has lost (most were solely damaged) less than 20 tanks in 1.5 years of war. This is nothing.

KSA/Arab coalition is fighting with battle experienced army in mountain area. 20 tanks - that is a tiny number. KSA/Arab coalition are not fighting rag tag militia, they are fighting an army with tanks, artillery, ballistic missiles and against the most heavily armed militia in the world (Houthis). In a country where the citizens have more weapons per capita than any other state in the world outside of the US. A state that has been in constant war/conflict for decades.

Wast majority of these around 20 tanks are ancient junk like M60 that needs to be replaced anyway.

Also KSA/Arab coalition does not plan to stay in Yemen forever but until most of the objectives have been reached. Once that happens a political solution will be found as there has already been peace talks for months. Although a final deal has not been reached yet due to Houthi/Saleh complains and demands of "special status".

The long-lasting fight is a fight that the legitimate Yemeni government, army, Yemenis as a people and Yemen as a nation must fight and win unless they want to end up like Afghanistan.

Anyway Houthi/Saleh rule of all of Yemen is a thing of the past and KSA will act again, just like we did in 2009, if our safety is threatened. Which is the right of any state in the world.

We are operating based on several UN resolutions.

As for this incident, let us see if footage will be released. Somehow I doubt it. As for grand conspiracies. I see none. See post 37.

Definitely noor version...caz iranians will never export original chinese systems to irregular forces...

C 802 is mainstay missile of chinese navy ... and newer versions wont be that easy to detect or intercept
There is nothing to indicate that newer versions are stealthier and hence more difficult to detect.

Flight profiles of c 802 A and later versions are lower... some say just feets above sea surface...that leads to delayed detection

It is not that Yemen was switzerland before, was it ?

The greatest Mistake that Saudi made is going there. I am all with Saudis had they completely sealed the border and kept the mess in yemen, But moving boots their with No prior experience was the greatest disaster of all time.

As much As i hate to say it, Iran Is master of disguise, their invaluable experience gained during 10 years of war with Iraq is can never be compared with that of an Army led by 21 year old defense minister. War is no Joke, Royals need to understand that. It is no wonder that that falling oil prices has forced a tax free country to become taxing one,
(even though still lower). But Saudi should have never stepped their foot on Yemen, they have been very skilfully dragged by Iran

Anyway Houthi/Saleh rule of all of Yemen is a thing of the past.
That is for Yemenis themselves to decide. You know why US has failed terribly in Afgh;stan ? Because the locals themselves don't want to fight Taliban, hence no matter how much resources you poor, you always see those ANA guys killing their own comrades, trainers. Unless there is absolute support from local people, there is no point in dragging oneself to fight a pointless war

ANd beyond your personal assertion, what data/evidence supports your conclusion/theory?

nothing

seems to convenient. a prelude to blame and attack Iran? conspiracy aside

I will like to know the platform and the type of missile used in the alleged attack

So far it has been everything but a disaster.

This is not how reality sounds Habibi

Iraq-Iran war lasted 8 years and happened ages ago. I see no relevancy.
OFC you wont nor your royals would, hence that is why they were dragged in so easily. Like I said compared to Iranians they have been unde war and sanctions since '79, you guys can never compares yourself to that battle hardened mentality or experience. Compared to that you have zilch 0 experince

Subsonic missile like the French Exocet or the C-802 fly at about 10 nautical miles per minute. Sea surfaces are not flat. Good sea skimmers therefore usually fly at 4-5m (13'2" - 16'5"). That is pretty standard.

And I can assure you that KSA/GCC will not allow a hostile neighbor next door just like Pakistan will not allow a completely hostile Afghanistan next door.
Other than lone attack on Saudi Soil Houthi rag tag militia cannot do much. That is if they try to Inside Arabia ( god forbid) saudi Internal security force quite strong. In their own Turf houthis are no match for Saudis. But stepping out and actually fighting away from Turf is as I said by no means a walk in park. With no prior experience this indeed turning out to be disaster

But this attack probably used Noor , reversed engineered version of basic c 802... with flight profile around 7 meters , thus higher than exocest , also has no data link or switchable dual seekers ; thus more suspetible to jamming / deception of their single seeker...which does seem to be the case here... atleast from report

What use do those articles serve exactly? I look at the ground realities and they show that KSA/Arab coalition/legitimate Yemeni government/army/Popular Resistance/allied tribes control 85% of Yemen and are on the roll while before KSA intervened almost 100% of Yemen was in the control of Houthis/Saleh.

Minimal KSA casualties (less than 300 soldiers) and minimal equipment has been destroyed. It has been anything but a disaster.

Iran was at war with Iraq. Nobody else. KSA has taken part in several wars and military interventions since 1979. And once again Iran plays no role. Using that logic KSA has dragged Iran into war in Syria and Iraq where they have lost more than KSA in Yemen.

KSA has been in a MODERN conventional war for the past 1.5 years. Iran's army has not been at war for almost 30 years. Your point makes no sense.

Anyway this has nothing to do with the topic and you are free to believe what you want to believe.
I am sorry there no need to get defensive.

I merely stated and presented that what you say is just out of pure patriotism and facts on ground are quite otherwise
(as evidenced)

KSA war is 1.5 years old whereas Iranian fought 8 yard with Iraq, The more you fight the better you get trained and experienced. What Iran has gained from that is invaluable, nothing comparable to a mere 1.5 year old war. Modern war ?/ fighting whom Houthi a rag tag militias? do they have an air force, or a proper Army, a force to be reckoned with ?

It seems the trajectory of this discussion is plunging to a point where you are not finding it relevant
(which ofc doesn't change the reality at all). So I find no point in continuing with discussion anymore. No hard feeling Habibi. But the last thing that I want is Kingdom being dragged into something that it cant handle. Kingdom is far better staying out of these pointless wars.

Where's the evidence this missile was noor or any other such missile? They could have just fired some unguided rockets at it.

Unguided rockets are not very good at hitting moving ships. The footage of UAE catamaran being hit suggest this type of guided missile. It could be P15 Termit (SS-N-2 Styx a.k.a. Silkworm) too, some of which where in use with Army of Yemen.

It truly must be a bitter pill for you knowing that your missiles just drop in the water while engaging US vessels(they didn't even have to engage their missile defences).Maybe this should be taken as a much needed lesson next time your country is chest thumping about closing the Hormuz strait with their silly exercises involving all those dingies.
