I don't really see this happening. I agree that the Russia/Assad regime relationship is profoundly lopsided, and that Russia would not shy away from a peace solution that would run somewhat contrary to the maximality of Assad's interests.
Letting Israel in to shape the region as a buffer is a no-no though. There are no strategic imperatives that Russia can service by doing that. Actually, doing the exact opposite of what you said fits both their MO and end-game better, assuming that you abide by the mere fact that all players are rationally guided by their self-interests when shaping and enacting policy.

You are absolutely right, but lets check some historical facts:

1. China was given all the military technology to counter Russia, infact Russia and China were rivals...
2. There is no doubt that Israel is getting limit less support from west but Isreal was never a western country.
3. Isreal is powerful enough to ditch US.
4. No doubt that US is the sole superpower but currently US is on the downward trajectory of its power.
5. Israel has always maintained itself as a neutral country during cold wars

Although it seems highly unlikely but Israel is trying to have freindly relationship with Russia and China furthermore, Israel having no stake in NATO has no sympathies for Russian enemies such Ukraine and East Europe ...

The way I say it there is a huge potential of a strong military relationship between Russia and Israel ... Israel is th only country that can handover Nato level tech to Russia whereas Israel needs friends to control entire Arabian Peninsula which was part of their agenda from the very beginning of Israel ... The original old boundaries of state of Israel from river Nile to river Euphrates ...

if they did, and Russia or Iran did nothing about it (or perhaps supported it) .. Who should do what about it?

Should Assad be invited to OIC Summit to tell him its not good idea to use chlorine gas on the civilians..? Or maybe Imam Kaaba can issue a fatwa against it. Or.. ?

Or should it should be ignored and pretended as if nothing happened or give it benefit of the doubt.

Some good points there, bro. People don't realize but Israel is the GOLDEN SPARROW of the Middle East. The writing is on the wall:

When Rebels are well Dug in even Bombs from Fighter jet has not too much effect, at the end when the Syrian forces moves in it'll be a street to street fight and more causalities for the regime.

But you throw a Chemical then there's no way for the rebels to hide.. they've to run out and die... now there's less rebels and weak the Regime forces moves in for a kill and capture.. this is the strategy.

This is the problem when you are not going to prepare yourself, others will take advantage of the shortcomings and continue to hit you. Israeli planes should had been shot down. I begin to wonder what are the S-400 doing?

Israelis used standoff weapon from Lebanese airspace, without crossing into Syria. 5 missiles were destroyed by air defence system while 3 managed to hit the target. That means total of eight missiles/bombs carried by 2 F15s, 4 each, two under each wing.

Something similar to what we got.

and of course RA'AD but that is a heavy duty weapon system.



On this occasion, I don't know what are the rules of engagement in that part of the world, but to shoot down a jet which is not even intruding your airspace becomes a tricky situation. Lebanese airspace needs to be made a no fly zone for Israelis or they need to be told that they will be shoot down on breaching Lebanese air space.

The main issue is -- should Arab be united under nationalism or should Muslims seek Umah-ism and form caliphate.

No, such a compromise is not advisable with Indian hegemonic designs (and an absolute lack of interest in addressing the issue of Kashmir) in the picture. However, my fear is that this arms-race can get out of hand in the coming years because India is a much bigger economy now and Pakistan would risk bankruptcy in the process.

Live with dignity but cultivate your significance with productivity - this should be our agenda.
