Breaking: Kobe Bryant has died in helicopter crash at 41

I was going to say, who is Iversen...…….

Well, I growth up watching 2010s NBA, I know LeBron, Steph and Kyrie....

Allen Iverson was a player who entered the league the same year Kobe did (96) Kobe entered right out of high school, and Allen Iverson was drafted out of Georgetown.

He played for the Philadelphia Sixers Which happens to be my hometown team.

That was before my time, but I remember watching him on the court when I was Much younger

Yeah, I sort of found out who he was by going online......hehe

Anyway. Let's go back to Kobe

If NBA teams across North America doing this just to honour him, you know he is a legend.

Don't think Kobe will be willingly go on to a helicopter than he know it was not serviced regularly and check, in fact, I think he own that chopper in question.

Also, there is a chance that this is a Pilot Error, which is 70% of all reason why aircraft crashed. I think you should wait for official FAA/NTSB investigation before comment on why the plane crashed. Or unless you know something we all don't?

Yeah...Am sure you and the others speaks from extensive personal experience in aviation beyond being a passenger.

I remember the day when he got drafted out of HS by the Charlotte Hornets & was immediately traded to the Lakers for Vlade Divic (now GM of the Sacramento Kings).

He is considered to be part of the 2nd Best Class to be drafted after the legendary Class of '84 which consisted of Hall of Famers like: Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley & John Stockton.

Though Kobe didn't win the Rookie of the Year (which went to another Legend: Allen Iverson), he still ended up having a Hall of Fame Career, winning multiple awards like Most Valuable Player (MVP), All-Rookie Team, Scoring Champion, Championships and also represented Team USA in the Olympics.

In his last game, he scored 81 Points which today is the 2nd Highest Score by an individual after the (late) Wilt Chamberlin who scored 100 Points in a single.

Possibly the nearest player to be compared to Michael Jordan.

Sad to hear about him & his 13 Year old daughter...

The helicopter in this case, crashed due to harsh weather conditions.

US have a national helicopter safety program: http://www.ushst.org/

Total accident rate is in decline in USA and Europe.

American helicopter industry log over 3.2 million flight hours in a year. With activity at this scale, accidents are very likely. After all, humans are flying these helicopters, and nothing is infallible.
