Victory of Azerbaijan, no matter how weird it sounds, was best possible outcome for Armenia.
The ethnic conflict practically ended, and with it, ended time of Russian influence in region.
Finally Armenia would achieve peace, and Russia wouldn't be able to manipulate Armenian people by supporting pro russian-aggressive politics.
Now Armenia can fully focus on economy and social problems, instead of spending so much into this ethnic conflict.

Maybe but some questions do come to mind. Is this not the end but really just a start to turmoil in the region?

- Now that the power disparity between Azerbaijan and Armenia has reached this point will Azerbaijan insist on a land bridge (a Zangezur corridor) between its Nakhchivan enclave and the rest of Azerbaijan through Armenia? What could Armenia do exactly if this was forced?

- Is Turkey going to want a land bridge to the east part of Azerbaijan? Where the gas and oil fields lie. Where a Pan Turkic trading region beckons. Will Iran get involved militarily since that such a bridge would cut it off from most of what is left of Armenia?

- Now that Russia has been shown to be such a toothless tiger what other parts of the former Soviet Union and even current vast Russia are going to try military adventures? There are numerous peoples and potential statelets in the vast reaches of Russia that might want to try their luck in redressing past wrongs or arbitrary borders as the Pax Russia begins to look very weak and distracted indeed.

As long as Armenian toxic mindset is not weeded out conflicts in the region will persist. Reeducation camps and public programs are needed but it will take multiple decades to make Armenia a functional state (from a pariah state) that could integrate in the region. They need to cut their links to the diaspora and start making friendly connections with their neighbors.

While the Russians could have kept the Azeris in check if they wanted back in 2020,they are so pressed and their logistics and a lot of their weapons found to be so inferior compared to NATO ones,they need to reorganize themselves. I agree with you,the West never was going to do anything. And if you also think about it realistically,even if let's say USA or France or Sweden or whoever else wanted to help Armenians with weapons,supplies and men,how would they do that? They can't pass from Turkey,they can't pass from Iran,they likely won't be allowed to pass from Georgia because of Georgian-Turkish relations. Russians wouldn't let them pass of course. Nobody would let them land on Armenia.

And it's funny because apparently Pashinyan's government never really thought about it or they knew it and continued because they were sellouts.
