There is one fundamental question that everyone seems to be forgetting ....... The logistical and supply route for Blackwater in A-Stan???

Now, there is ONLY ONE country that can make this possible. And this country is Pakistan. Think about it ..... without Pakistan's permission there is no Blackwater in A-stan!!

And hence this raises an extremely important point to ponder by all of us here ...... IF the presence of Blackwater in A-stan is detrimental to Pakistan, and to everyone else in the region like Russia, China, etc .. then would it be fair to assume that if Blackwater is allowed in A-Stan by Pakistan then the Generals and people in Pakistan allowing this to happen are Traitors to they own country???

The concerned Pakistanis and the Cheerful Indians do know that a dead US Soldier or Us Diplomat is an entirely different story then some Contractors being shot here and their.
Public outrage and Political dimensions of acting against these Companies is not compared to targeting a US Serviceman.
Modern Warfare is not a Rambo Styled onslaught. Where tough men engage other tough men in direct firefight and badder guys win.
It is going to be a slaughterhouse for these poor folks. Afghanistan is getting more and more hostile. Pakistan is getting more and more hostile toward the US presence in the region.
I remember these Contractors lurking Pakistani streets back in Musharraf era and early PPP times enjoying support of Government institutes. they should not expect the same warm welcome in this region.
World should think the Afghanistan problem more seriously instead of making stupidities like this.

US, as always, needs a way out. Reducing manpower and privatizing is only option here for arms dealers. The history tells that US, creates excuses to invade nations and then always invent lame excuses for an exit.

Black Water was already in Afghanistan and it was always suggested to privatize Afghan invasion as the purpose is done by creating ground and atmosphere for mercenaries. Afghan warlords were promoted for a reason and this buffer zone will remain unstable as they planned .US invited India into Afghanistan so to support mercenary camps and HQ. Not black water alone but UK is also in there and lastly, G4S HQ was attacked too. Everyone is now about to leave being defeated and handover grounds to private mercenaries to assist Afghan warlords. Though, once it's mercenary play area, regional nations are going to pound inch by inch of war zone for own safety.

Blackwater have extensive history of operating in Iraq and Somalia, and they can handle any environment. In fact, Blackwater have operated in many countries including Pakistan for several years. Bear in mind that these guys are military veterans and CIA agents on average.

And it will be wrong to assume that US does not care about the lives of its citizens irrespective of profession. See my post above in which I explained how Blackwater operated in Iraq.

Let us not delude ourselves by underestimating this agency because it will not be operating in isolation. If Blackwater is tasked to work with ANA than Afghan Taliban need to worry.

Blackwater won't be able to operate sucessfully in Afghanistan, because they will not be able to gather any intelligence. Thinking that you can fight a war through attrition like Rambo is hilarious.

What has blackwater got to do with gathering intelligence, this will be CIA run opp, blackwater will only serve as the hammer end of the deal. The big plus here for ISI is that US soldiers were off limits for us as eliminating them over a certain amount would've caused massive public backlash back in the US forcing the yanks to increased US agression in Afghanistan. Blackwater will be given no such mercy. They are private contractors n will be dealt as such. ISI will go open season on them.

It is fair to think that a regular army will find it difficult to handle irregular gorilla/volunteer force like Taliban but are mercenaries the answer? I don’t think so!!


For me, it is an excellent time to note the parties who actually say they are friends of Afghans but are relishing the private contractors and mayhem they will bring for Afghans in general.

American armed forces destroyed Fallujah in response, and the mastermind of the Fallujah incident (Ahmad Hashim Abd al-Isawi) met his end in 2009.

Blackwater significantly expanded its footprint across Iraq after the incident in Fallujah, and its agents not only helped American armed forces in defeating Iraqi insurgency (2006 - 2008), but TERRORIZED Iraqi people on a massive scale through several years.

Blackwater is a powerful agency, with ample counter-insurgency experience under its belt (Iraq and Somalia), and can deliver in situations where a regular army might be hesitant. Blackwater can be tasked to complement Afghan National Army to rollback advances of Afghan Taliban across Afghanistan, and Afghan Taliban will loose any leverage it have on the negotiation table afterwards. STRATEGY make difference on the ground; coalition does not.

What people keep overlooking is that Blackwater is mostly comprised of former special forces servicemen from some of the best special forces in the world (Western militaries).

Special forces do not operate like conventional soldiers, ie marines or other regular units.

These men have plenty of counterinsurgency experience from previous deployments, they are trained not to confront the enemy head on where he is the strongest.
