If India talkds abt democracy than learn accept the critizism that comes with democracy. Also India needs to respect ppls choice of religion and also there should be no discrimination based on religion or other elements.

We wont. We wont respect others choice of faith....and we will discriminate....now what?

A week later, govt gives up

HYDERABAD: With the city police unable to make any headway into last Friday's blast at Mecca Masjid, the state government has requested the Centre to order a CBI inquiry into the blast and also announced a judicial probe into the police firing in the aftermath of the violence triggered by the blast.

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy wrote a letter to Union home minister Shivraj Patil requesting the same, an official release said on Thursday.

According to sources, there was intense pressure on the state government from the police to order a CBI inquiry into the blast as the latter was making no progress to identify the perpetrators of the crime.

"There has been no breakthrough in the last four days with reference to the blast. So we thought it best that the probe be handed over to the CBI," a police officer said. After initially linking the blast to Harkat-ul-Jehad-i-Islami (HuJI) activist Mohammed Abdul Shahed alias Bilal, the police could not make much progress. While they could establish that a mix of RDX and TNT was used in the blast, they could not establish as to how the bomb was smuggled in or as to who were the local accomplices.

"We pressed for a CBI probe so that the culprits can be identified. In the case of the Malegaon blasts which took place in September 2006, a CBI probe was ordered several months later. We wanted that a similar mistake is not made with reference to the masjid blast," an official said.

It was the MIM which had demanded that a CBI inquiry be ordered into the blast and a judicial probe be initiated into the subsequent police firing in which five persons were killed. The MIM charged that the firing could have been avoided and
wanted the judicial probe to identify what it called the 'guilty cops.'

SHRC probe into Old City police firing

HYDERABAD: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) will hold an inquiry on June 11 into the police firing that followed the Mecca Masjid blast.

A delegation of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), led by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, petitioned the commission to probe the firing that left five people dead.

"The unprovoked and indiscriminate firing started when the additional commissioner of police (crimes) had arrived at the spot. MIM demands suspension of the Hussaini Alam sub-inspector who fired the first bullet along with the Charminar assistant commissioner of police, and the inspectors of Falaknuma and Moghalpura. Murder cases should be booked against them," Asaduddin told reporters after he met SHRC chairperson B Subhashan Reddy on Wednesday.

He claimed the police fired on innocent people using self-loading rifles (SLRs) that 'are used in operations against terrorists and Maoists'. He alleged that people fleeing the blast spot were fired upon. The MIM leader threatened dire consequences if the state government did not respond to his call for a CBI inquiry into the bomb blast and judicial probe into the police firing by Thursday.

The MIM leader also rubbished the DGP's claim that rubber bullets were fired by police that day.

The SHRC chairperson said that he had already sought reports from the Hyderabad police commissioner and the district collector on the firing as some other individuals and organisations had approached the commission. "Based on the reports, the SHRC will decide the issues to be taken up in the inquiry on June 11. The complainants would get a copy of the reports so that they can respond accordingly in the inquiry," Subhashan Reddy said.[/QUOTE]

Indian police beat Muslims in Hyderabad, arrest 12

Police arrested twelve Muslims after the Friday prayers at Mecca Mosque in the Hyderabad, the capital of south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh .

Police baton-charged the Muslims after Friday Prayers when Muslim crowd was protesting last week's bomb blast and killings of defenseless people by security forces' bullets at the sixteenth century historic mosque, media reports said.

Police had claimed to have recovered two mobile phone and a sim card used in detonating the bombs and two other un-exploded bombs at Mecca Masjid in downtown Hyderabad the same day of the blast.

Mecca Mosque of Hyderabad is one of the biggest mosques of south India with the capacity of more than fifty thousand worshipers.

Nothing has been proved in police probe yet despite of several protests all over India and the latest one by Ahmad Bukhari, prayers leader of Delhi's Jama Masjid, Thursday in a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Indian prime minister in turn again blamed Muslims of being violent and claimed there was some danger to the petrol pump which is about one kilometer from Mecca Mosque.

While the most of Indian media video reports clearly show the people were on defensive and were carrying the injured when police started firing on them.

All the concerned officials and leaders have promised a lot but nothing concrete has been done yet regarding last week's bomb blast and its probe.

Wow! Muslims were killed and now they can't even protest?

Wow now Indian television probably shot those images of the people carrying their injured under fire... Maybe those are the scenes from a new ballywood flick? I wonder which excuse they'd pick...

How come none of the cameras on the scene captured a violent angry mob? Most of them were just saving their necks from the bombs and the spray of bullets!

Interesting... I'll keep digging.

The TOI article that you posted says RDX and TNT was used....

So claims the police which has been haphazardly pointing towards some Shahed aka Bilal dude..

Its not the first time a bomb blast has happened in India. Scores have happened, killing Hindus,Chrisitans,Sikhs and Muslims.

Recently itself there were bomb blasts in 2 very holy temples, 1 during hindu's festival of diwali. There were no protests by Hindus later on.

Here 10 are killed and they gather to protest after friday prayers. Did they come to pray? Whats the purpose of praying if this is what they do immediatly after that.

Thats why earleir in another thread said that Muslims are an avoidable part in a society. Its better to do without them.

Dude it's not the number of Muslims that were killed, its the manner! They aren't protesting the bomb blasts (which will soon start too when the Indian government doesn't point the finger at the Hindu parties) they are protesting the Indian police firing at them!

Hindus TOO have protested and a lot more violently may I add. They come out brandishing their swords which is clearly for the benefit of the Muslims and not for the government. Muslims are protesting not against Hindus but your government!

Did he admit to committing murder ?

Whats wrong with the manner of the killing ?

Cant be a little rowdy and expect to be treated nicely by the police. Irrespective of religion.
