Bollywood celebs, PTI attend £4m wedding bash

LONDON: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan, party seniors along with Bollywood’s film stars attended the wedding of businessman Anil Mussarat’s daughter in London, which is estimated to have cost around £4 million.

Bollywood bigwigs such as Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Karan Johar and Sunil Shetty attended all the functions and entertained everyone with their performances. The wedding reception was hosted by Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director Karan Johar.

PTI leader Imran Khan landed at the Heathrow airport on Saturday afternoon and headed for the wedding where other party leaders were already present including Sahibzada Jahangir, Naeem-ul-Haque, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Babar Awan, Ahmed Raza Kasuri, Imran Chaudhary among others.

Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, Makhdom Ahmed Mehmood also attended the wedding.

Imran Khan was invited on the stage by Karan Johar to share his wedding experience with others. Imran said it was difficult for him to take out time but he couldn’t say ‘no’ to Aneel Musarrat because of his support.

Imran Khan also said that Aneel Musarrat’s family was like his own, and thanked Aneel for supporting his cancer hospital.

Krrish star Hrithik Roshan, who is again embroiled in controversy after Kangana’s explosive interview, remarked that he looked forward to attending the wedding when he heard about it “months ago and I have enjoyed every aspect of it”.

On the occasion, Bollywood’s fashionista Sonam Kapoor said she had planned the wedding with Aneel’s daughter, Anoosha, and spent months going through details and the arrangement.

“ I have known Anoosha for over 15 years and her family are lovely people. I just wish the couple all the best for their life ahead.”

Ranveer Singh, who stunned the wedding guests with his performance, said he had come from India putting aside his film engagements to be part of the wedding.

“We have rocked and rolled and what great celebrations, simply amazing,” he said.

Mussarat’s daughter, Anoosha Mussarat, got married to property developer Edmund Kissner in a lavish ceremony. The wedding bash spread over a week, starting from Manchester and culminating at the Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane.

There are no official figures available of the costs of this wedding but a source linked with the planning of big bash said that over £4 million has been spent on the wedding. He said that the costs have been incurred on total involving events around the wedding over a week.

Moreover, Bollywood’s figures were invited from India and accommodated initially in Manchester and then in Park Lane hotels. All PTI leaders were flown in from Pakistan especially for the occasion and were accommodated in five-star hotels.

Awami Muslim League Head Sheikh Rasheed told Geo News: “I have not been to any wedding like this my whole life. This wedding was just another level, nothing that I have ever seen or been to. Just wonderful.”

Head of British armed forces General Sir Nicholas Patrick "Nick" Carter and leading figures of British businesses were also in attendance.

Naeem-ul-Haque commented that Aneel Musarrat has been a “great friend” and taking part at his family’s big moment has been a privilege.

Sahibzada Jahangir, who helped organise the bash, said that the exclusive event was “the most memorable ever. Attendance of celebrities from India, Pakistan and the UK made this wedding a truly great experience for everyone. Imran Khan had to reschedule his holiday plans with his children to attend the wedding and to thank Aneel Musarrat and his family”.

4 million? Looks like they spent 90% of budget on bringing bollywood actors to dance.

I don't watch any of that sh!t anymore (television), whether Bollywood or Hollywood or any other ...wood. It's all a waste of time and dumbs people down.

I'll watch the occasional war movie or something that's based on a real life event but none of that other sh!t (for lack of better word).

Yes Pakistanis watch Bollywood. But those without sence and doesn't knows what real movies are like.
Bollywood is actually nothing but crap and a cheap flashy rip off Hollywood. Even educated Indian people also agree. Even now a days their songs are dumb.
For example if you have no choice you would only see whatever Is available. Pakistanis having no cinema at home craves for some films and Indian films provides them cheap entertainment, having same language (99 percent of so called Hindi films are in Urdu), same dresses, same stories etc etc.
But history also shows us that when ever we Pakistanis have made films no matter how ever the quality is , pakistanis prefer to watch them. Simply majority of Pakistanis don't understand English well and think that all English movies are **** movies, so they better stick with Indian ones.
The thing is now we have big multiplexes and they earn a lot from Pakistani movies but that inbetween that time when there are no movies , then Indian movies fill that gap. Pakistan is producing small number of movies per year though quality Iis improving.
Very sad but it is the truth.
I am much more worried about our society and culture. Nowadays you never come across a guy who speaks in clear voice. Almost everyone is following Indian accent, which is so cheap. Their way to talking is so repulsive and our youth is picking that from Bollywood. They emotional way of talking and expressions must be fined.
Besides there are many negative things. They give off anti Pakistan narrative, they are destroying our culture.
Besides now a days it is no longer bilateral. Our movies are banned in India. It is so sad. Our people do not have enough guts. Why these cinema owners instead of begging government to allow Indian movies refused to play them. Why don't people stop Watching them.
Now a days nawaz sheriff has even destroyed our drama and ad industry too. All the ads are nowadays made in India, it is so repulsive to see an over enthusiastic person with Indian accents full of pathetic expressions and mind set make our ads. Are we so incapable to make ads?
Indian dramas have always been there and they have never been in competition with Pakistani dramas. In start some pakistani's watch them with enthusiasm which faded quickly.
In return what gems Pakistani drama industry product in 2000s is simply Awsum... There was no competition. Nowadays frankly only naukerani's and masi's watch Indian soaps, which was OK.
But Turkish dramas , they ruined our industry. Nowadays their was no drama worth watching, The Turk's have extraordinary beautiful people, breathtaking scenery and Awsum sets. Who needs good story if you have above mentioned things. Though even Turkish fever is over but now our drama industry is shit and in ruins.
So sad .
We need a stable entertainment industry, it even helps government develop their narrative, earn huge profits, creation of job and showcase of our unique culture.

Did not get the messsage first time round - Again stop trolling.

F O imbecile – Majority of the Indian music is copied from Pakistan and other countries. So are the movies. Stop copying/making movies and music in urdu, the entire bollywood is more Pakistani than Hindustani on top majority of the successful workers originated from the higher lands.

We get it, you get off from watching Pakistani women dance - but thats as far as it going to get - Stop trolling.
