Rohingyas are a south Chittagonian extension. It makes sense the bordering area people will resemble each other in characteristics. Since Rohingya lands were awarded to Burma, they have grown unique identity for themselves and dont relate to Bangladeshis. And Bangladeshis dont relate to Rohingyas. Maybe some contacts happen between the bordering region people. With permission bordering area people of BD and Burma could access both the countries for a limited time period without a Visa. For a proper Bengali speaker like myself, I may not understand a bit of Rohingya language, maybe some special words here and there. Similarly I dont understand dialects from some special pockets of people from BD. I may find many similarities with Assamese language but its a different language. Hindi is much easier for me to understand than Assamese/Rohingya. But what is perplexing is, this forum has totally gone down to drains. Having an opinion about the Rohingya issue contravening to yours doesn't necessarily mean it all encompass an individual's outlook on Bangladesh or it's people..
