C919 is definitely a great alternative but it currently uses engines from Pratt&Whitney and CFM International which are both American firms. China could sell these aircrafts to Iran once AVIC completes and integrates it's CJ-1000AX engine onto the plane.

Sukhoi Superjet 100 faces a similar problem as SaM146 jet engine is being done by the Powerjet company, a JV between the French Snecma and Russia's NPO Saturn with Snecma being it's major risk-sharing partner while it's subsystems are being supplied by many American, EU and Asian firms which results in a higher risk of being sanctioned than the C919.

Canada's Bombardier and Brazil's Embraer don't have the balls to go against the US as they use quite a lot of American subsystems as well

The Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 uses most of it's subsystems procured from US, EU and SK which makes it quite reliable according to your perception. Y'all could probably procure it if Russia agrees to sell it to you and if you're lucky enough that US doesn't pressurize the other countries to stop supplying the components to Sukhoi

EU is sticking to the deal for now and Iran had signed a big contract with Airbus. But again Airbus planes use a lot of avionics and subsystems built in USA. Its engines too are American.

With USA totally in Israel's pocket and Trump wanting to sanction every country, chances are EU too will back out of Iran deal.

Iranian market is quite small. It is insignificant to Boeing with orders for more than 20 years of delivery

Well there is Iran's mistake as well. They should have gone with Airbus to start with instead of Boeing. Because once the deals get signed, it is not so easy to back off and Europe has a better record as compared to US. Well in the end, Iran can get C919s from China or Embraer from Brazil.

Airbus is an equal competitor and offers a worthy airplane in each category that is either equal or even better in capabilities. Furthermore, A-380 is the biggest passenger airplane in the world which beat Boeing 747 by an easy margin.
