written by boeing to Prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, explaining boeing's relations with PIA and offering of 787 dreamliner to Pakistan International Airlines.

The Boeing planes PIA has so far missed out on are 727, 717 (MD-95), 757, 767
I always wanted the 757s and 767s to be part of the PIA fleet

The Boeing planes you list employ cargo pallets incompatible with the Airbuses, whereas the new Boeing models (747-8, 777, 787) use the same LD3s that the current Airbuses use.

If a good deal can be struck PIA should definitely go for it. These are very efficient long range aircraft. It is about time PIA got new aircraft for its expat passengers.

Boeing 787-9/10 Dreamliner is a modern aircraft and will be great addition into PIAs fleet as it is fuel efficient and has good carrying capacity 245-330 passengers.

Dreamliner is one heck of a plane. I dont see the reason as to why its not inducted yet!
The top-line model costs well over 200 million dollars, nearly 300 million dollars.
It's not exactly "cost friendly".

i dont get that, why would boeing ask pia to convert the order for 5 777's to 787's? the 777 production line is comming to an end when the 777-8/9 come to production in 2018 and they dont have enought orders to keep the line going till then.

An Airbus A-350 top end will set you back: US$355.7 million.

So I'd say invest in a fleet of A-330s, and later upgrade them to Neo spec (New Engine Option).
that is the "list" price. airline get at least a 30% discount if they order bulk. very large orders result in the actual price being half or if not less than the list price. so if a 787-9 has a list price of $269.4 million and you order lets say 12 you would be paying about 200 million.

Nice plane! Buy it!
Flew to Sydney on it. It was the only plane capable of sustaining a direct flight from Delhi to Sydney without taking a halt in Singapore or Malaysia.
Ofcourse being Air India, most of the plane was empty but that only meant combining 3 seats to make a bed plus staff was nice enough to serve me unlimited helpings of lunch and dinner and white wine. Good times!
