How to fly a helicopter

A ROFLcopter

Flying a helicopter is a simple task that small cavemen and paraplegics usually do. all you do is grab the controls and go: BUM BADA BUM BUM! BUM BADA BUM BUM! BUM BADA BUM BUM! BUM BADA BUM! if played correctly you will have mastered pretending to fly a helicopter.

lol

Some more
helicopters fly using a rotating wing to produce extreme ugliness causing the earth to repel the helicopter and causing the helicopter to ascend from the ground. this form of flight known as "super ugly o' matic 5000" is the cause of flight for many similar aircraft.

I think IAF should go for MI26 simple reason

1) India should not switch to all american weapons so quikly.
2)Many Indian tribal regions and border areas don't have roads thats why in any disaster or war time these choppers will come handy bcoz of there migthy load(more than chinooks).

Sorry, couldn't restist here. :)

It's true that the tandem rotor design of the Chinook gives advantages to rear loading/unloading to a truck compared to a normal helicopter, but who cares about that when you can carry not only the load, but the truck itself inside of an Mi 26?

When it's up to lifting performance, there can't be any other choice than the Russian heli, but they have to do or offer something to us in regard to the support problems we had in the past, otherwise we simply combine this deal with the Apache deal and Boeing will get another deal.
Personally I had prefered a final comparison between the Sikorsky CH53 and the Mi 26, not sure why or when it was rejected, but it would have been the better US choice.

Mi-26 can take a tata truck in it's belly, but a chinook can't it has to take it hanging in mid air....and when it comes to mountaneous area ,chinook has disadvantage in this aspect

ofcourse that is but consider other facts also say 'easy to maintain', timely delivery, service ceiling,....don't you think chinooks caught eyes there.

Chinook. Its a better performer at higher altitudes and can drop troops where needed and isn't as cumbersome. The Mi-26 was not designed to work behind enemy lines or front lines for that matter.

FYI to Sancho, the Chinook can fit a hummer, Mi-26 doors too small. The Chinook is more versatile.

And who said these helicopters would be used behind enemy lines??? Again, we are talking about helicopters for the heavy lift competition, to replace the currently used Mi 26 in IAF. They were meant to transport heavy loads like howitzers, BMPs, trucks, APCs, even parts of ISRO rockets, or helped in recovering crashed fighters and helicopters and not for any tactical role, because that is where the Mi 8 and Mi 17s will be used. The whole talk about deploying troops on mountain tops, or behind enemy lines only comes from Boeings PR, or the fact that the Chinook will be used in such roles in other air forces, but that has no meaning for IAF, since they have other priorities and requirements.
Btw, why shouldn't the Mi 26 not be able to carry a Hummer/Humvee internally, when it can carry way bigger loads?

Humvee width: 2.1 m

Mi 26 Cargo Compartment Dimensions:12 meters - Floor Length, 3.3 meters - Width, Height variable from 2.9 to 3.2 meters.
