Either the plane came apart midflight or the pilot wanted to suicide. Even with a loss of power the plane can glide for a while.

They just charged almost 2.5 Billion USD for that scam by the court.

There is nothing wrong to spend a couple of bucks, and using Airbus in your flight

Anyway severe turbulence category only rise/drop up to 30 meters.
This one is 10,000ft in less than half minute (26 seconds).

I still don't get it

Perhaps combination of severe turbulence and engine malfunction, hence when the plane drop it also loose speed and cannot climb or sustain the altitude anymore then keep falling.

It can flight upwards to avoid traffic but not that high plus they have sensors to avoid traffic. They can be scaled up to passenger jet size, but in truth there is no reason for jet size because there is no need compete on the limited space/timetable in airports. You can have 1000s of those, and with proper traffic control is better than those large passenger planes. The main reason of flying that low is to gain ground effect for increase efficiency.
