Look. Indian Govt never proposed it. Its my idea for a friendly govt. That's it. Considering a 1968 coastal guard ship into BD Navy, I felt, Godaveri if transferred would have been a better use.
And I am not sure of Defence policy as India have never fought with BD.

If we want to name anything in our country for any medieval muslim ruler then it should be Nabab Siraj-ud-daula as he was a patriot and wanted to maintain our independence and became martyr.Other most of the muslim rulers had no connection with this land or people.

And I am not talking about Type 56 Corvette aka OPV equipped with AShM.

It is quite an unneccessary discussion (no idea why it even started) regarding transferring/selling stuff to Bangladesh in this particular thread (beyond a point).

It is their country, it is their decision to buy whatever they want.

India is better off first really expanding its defence exports to various countries....(as we have seen like the OPV export to Vietnam, HUMSA to Burma, Dhruv exports etc...) in a very sizeable way first to countries that want such products and where there is large scope to expand defense relations.

India Bangladesh relations, because they are neighbours, are in a stasis (in defence realm)...we know the issues, problems, suspicions whatever...very well on both sides...so we simply rile up people by constantly badgering them like we are a big brother to them and therefore we must be right.

Reality is its a free world...let both countries keep growing....we will eventually mature in our defence relations much further down the road.

I for one look forward to the day that India and Bangladesh both buy and sell defence products to each other in an open mutually beneficial way....but I am fine with that day being far in the future....there are other more pressing priorities to focus on.

Let me make it simple for you....Bangladesh armed forces have had an unwritten policy of not buying any major defense equipment from india. Our defense purchase are from most countries including China, Russia, Serbia, South Korea, UK etc....Excluding india and israel.

Bangladesh don't buy indian defense equipment...period.
