This has been the case in India in the past as well. Law enforcement agencies in Delhi will sit on the information about a event waiting to happen in Bombay & vise-versa....while an ordinary person is made to pay the price for their internal game of one-upmanship.

Mate this is an outragious claim to make. Any sane and compasstionate human being, a police/intelligence person at that will do whatever they can to save the lives of fellow human beings/countrymen. It is not a case that they sit back and watch knowing what will happen more, that through incompatency and bureaucracy information is not shared effectively or is not acted upon.

The National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) is a proposed federal anti-terror agency to be created in India modelled on the National Counterterrorism Center of the USA. The proposal arose after the 26/11 attacks where several intelligence and operational failures revealed the need for a federal agency with real time intelligence inputs of actionable value specifically to counter terrorist acts against India. The proposal has however met with much criticism from the Chief Ministers of various states who see this as a means of weakening India's federalism

Was meant to improve the intel sharing and anti-terror coordination in India amonst all states and the Federal govt, is stalled because certain a-hole Cheif ministers decided they didn't like this idea- for some reasons God only knows.


I have no idea what has happened to the NCTC proposal, last year the GoI was pushing for it hard, now..........................?

I know it sounds harsh... but in reality that's how different arms of our intelligence agencies work. There have been occasions where different branches of our intelligence units failed to share the information between themselves. Otherwise as a nation we wouldn't have been in an embarrassing situation when our govt sends dossier to foreign countries to hand over the terror suspects even when they were locked up in our own prisons. These kinda events happened in more than one occasion & only goes to show how professional our agencies are. You don't pick & choose the events to show your worth, no matter how grave or less important it is.
