The Pakistani left (and many Sanghis) have thought PDF was an 'Army/ISPR project' for years. That allegation isn't new. Therefore, anyone that supports the Army on twitter is an 'ISPR paid troll' or anyone that supports the PTI is a 'PTI paid troll'.

It's inconceivable for them that a large number of Pakistanis could have a strong nationalist viewpoint and be pro-Army. Even more inconceivable for them that many of us could be pro-democracy and pro-Army simultaneously.

For a group that cannot stop bloviating about free speech and respecting differences of opinion, Pakistan's liberals/leftists have very little tolerance for free speech and difference of opinion when it doesn't align with their own.

Absolutely. A line was crossed and even before I became aware of it, I had a PM from the poster apologizing for his behavior. I suggested that if he had a twitter account that he should reach out and DM the individual in question and apologize.

And the same applies to our members who are critical of the PPP & PMLN - criticism is fine, but don't let your emotions get the best of you and argue for lynchings or the political leadership being dragged into the streets and shot. We have a constitution (however flawed) and laws against corruption - we need to follow it and if you believe that politicians have committed crimes, let the relevant institutions handle it and punish those individuals per the law.

It may not be perfect, but it is all we have and the focus should be on improving our existing institutions and processes rather than calling for vigilante justice.

PDF is a defence forum. It must not be concerned with Leftists or Rightists. I am a constitution-focused centrist who leans to the left on fiscal policy & to the right on social issues. But I do not consider either leftists or rightists being 'wrong'. They hv their place & constitution guarantees them same rights & safeguards.

I am all for freedom of expression, except about religious personalities. I do not think targeting any segment brings any benefits at all. Different POVs are like genes; we never know which one is needed under which circumstances. So, as a forum, PDF must not champion any particular POV orpolitical inclination. It is not for PDF to do.

About the prevailing topic, young men dying in Pakistan, whether in uniform or out of it should call for soul-searching.

Handling Baloch nationalism is not complicated. It is just difficult because the person who foolishly opened this can of worms can not be called to account for his idiocies.
