What's new

Blackwater's Pakistan mission (and related news)

But I would suspect the ISI has started bugging the buildings the same way the KGB did in Moscow when the US wanted a new embassy building there.
If not they are seriously slipping.

USSR was a superpower like the USA, Pakistan is no where close to USSR. I am not trying to take away any credit from the ISI but fact is that CIA hasa huge technological advantage.

The only way to counter this plan is to wake the sui huwi awam and have them build enough pressure on the GoP so that they can tell the US to back off.

Imagine an attack on Pakistan from India where US forces use this embassy to drop supplies and forces to take over Islamabad. I know Pakistan's armed forces will fight back such a scenario but why give a psycholgical advantage to the enemy.

Having this base in Islamabad will keep a constant pressure on armed forces and additional resources will need to be allocated for any future problem.

Hi,

People party is in power because of the united states---what else would you expect them to do---they had promised to give all and sundry to the u s if need be alongwith A Q Khan---so that the peoples party could become the govt---.

People voted for them---knowing fully well what they were capable of---.

You are so right ... the same people think that hamari fouj kuch nahee honey dey gee. People don't realize that everything can't be left for the armed forces to sort out.

This is the job of every single Pakistani to raise their concerns on this matter so that the GoP is forced to take action.

I Think this staff is neccessory for the US Embasy .Better to protect them during an Islamic Revolution .
MoreEver Every one has to be watched. Like Human Survelance in and out of the Embassy Permises . Close Circuit Cameras .
I have heared
During the Seventies the KGB infiltrated our Parliment and Primeminister's Houce through a small Transmitter. They were later on eventually neutralized and were presented to US gov.
But now the scenario could be same but the players would be different.

You watched our embassy get burned to the ground in 1980. Hated us then. Hate us now. Don't like it? Kick us out but that land has been sold so that we can increase our staff to facilitate your massively expanded needs.

Oh!

Marriott got our attention too. And a couple of other things like the Lal Masjid op, Buner, etc...

Ask the Sri Lankan cricket team how secure they were?

All of this is too, too close to our expanding diplomatic staff (and spies, covert op specialists, nuclear weapons reconnaissance teams, etc.).

In short, we need and should do everything we can to supplement your security efforts. I'm sure you understand given the current conditions around your country.

Personally, I would have evacuated the sucker as it exists in a country hostile to American interests.

Now about A.Q...didn't somebody say he's part of the deal?

Keep trying but not at the expanse of security of Pakistan ... lets see how far your efforts go :)

All American Guys, if u don't know the ground reality & situation then kindly don't comment. Islamabad is not Baghdad, US embassy in Pakistan is already in a diplomatic area, specially designed for embassies and fully secured from all sides. Its a huge area having nearly all the embassies of other countries.

If u see the article the sanctioned strength of american staff in Pakistan is 350 and they are 700+.

Can u answer for what purposes u need such a huge staff ?? 1000 people for what purposes ??

This is not iraq that u have to have one of the largest embassies in the world becoz virtually america is running iraq.

If america does take this step, the hatred & suspicion for US will increase more, and americans would be prone more to being getting attacked.

So if US doesn't wishes to make things more complicated for us & themselves then they should better reduce the current strength and let us ourselves solve the problems.

Thus the truth comes out -- NWO is priming to bomb Pakistan "back-to-the-stone-ages". It's obvious its (1) IRAQ, then (2) AFGHAN, then (3) IRAN-PAK-EGYPT, then (4) INDIA. Yes, be careful my Indian brothers US/UK/Israel is going after you next. :sniper:

Like the Romans paid piles of Gold(Securty Expense) to the Barberic Huns. They could have earned more if they had nukes .

Let the seed nurture itself .BTY hes sharing something which is popular among commen people.

Please clarify for me what, exactly, about my post you find inaccurate? If not, I'd ask that you stay on topic and avoid the overtly personal attacks without context.

"I am even thinking to start an online petition requesting the members for banning S-2 and never let him post his neoconservative minded views again."

I've served my nation's army as a nuclear-weapons qualified field artillery officer for twelve years, have two undergraduate degrees in Political Science and History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters in Management from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management- Willamette University.

I'm soon to be 54 and have seen much in this world. I was born a caucasian on Taiwan-maybe the only caucasian born on Taiwan you're likely ever to meet. I've lived for six years in W. Germany- not Germany.

I've 2300 posts on this board as an enemy of many here and a friend of a few. Somehow I've managed to survive. What value I bring here is hard to say but I enjoy discussing these issues on an intimate basis with your countrymen.

So take your best shot, stud, but until management pulls the plug on me, I can only presume that I'll be permitted a venue to offer a different perspective.:D

Thanks.

Oh! And stay on topic, please?:enjoy:

taimikhan I find both these post of your offensive and way out side any sane discussion in this forum. YOu are close to personally attacking a person which is outside forum gidelines.

AND

You dare attack a persons military background yet you have none. Back off!

The thought of a petition to ban someone who disagrees with your point of view is totally unacceptable and indicates that you are not even able to conduct discourse yourself.

I am appalled that a member of this forum would stoop to that level of discussion and it has serious implication on ALL discussion in this forum.
Your request does nothing but publicly denigrate this forum.

All members need to avoid confrontation, and adopt a tone of respect and politeness. I know this can be hard, its hard to convey tone and courtesy in an online forum, but we must try if we are to increase the quality of the discourse here. Keep emotions out of discussions, because Pakistani or American, no one will be allowed to trash our respected forum. Stick to facts as far as possible and convey humble, but effective, opinion.

I know the marines will be happy that people think 350 of them are enough to stage an invasion of Pakistan, they do say 1 Marine is worth 100 of any one else :azn:

To shed perhaps a little light amongst the heat the sort of thing the embasy is doing?

In response to a request from the government of Pakistan, the United States provided six water trucks to the Pakistani Army. The trucks, each with a 4500-liter capacity and pumping unit, are intended to assist the distribution of water to various displaced persons camps operated by the government.

U.S. Ambassador Anne W. Patterson visited the Anbar Elementary College Camp in Swabi District, where approximately 2,500 displaced persons are currently residing. During her visit, the Ambassador delivered school supplies for more than 500 displaced children receiving instruction at the school.

In response to a request from the government of Pakistan, the United States delivered four MI-17 cargo helicopters to the Pakistani Army. The additional helicopters are meant to enhance Pakistan's capabilities in current operations against militant extremists, and its efforts to care for hundreds...

Vassnti,

Normally I remove the original title so I'm able to direct my post to some reader such as yourself in this case. This time I had to include the title as our expanded presence has raised MY eyebrows.

I read much of the magazine, briefly perusing through this and that, noting the composition contest and some of the topical articles on how our aid is being used.

I enjoyed the introduction from our press attache. I found it forthcoming and straight-forward.

Too much so. Following a great article on the tremendously aromatic and culinary delights one might experience on a 4th of July afternoon in a typical American neighborhood it finished by providing a couple American 4th of July standard recipes- cornbread...

...and baby-back ribs.

That was it. Of all the vast array of foods we eat on the 4th of July the Islamabad embassy of the United States chose babyback ribs as one of two recipes.

God love em' but they can be dense.:disagree:
