BJP MP Diya Kumari claims her family descended from Lord Ram's son, ready to present proof in Supreme Court

BJP MP Diya Kumari, who is a member of Jaipur's erstwhile royal family, made the comment while reacting to a Supreme Court's query on Friday whether anyone from the 'Raghuvansha' (descendants of Lord Ram) was still residing in Ayodhya in politically sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case.

Diya Kumari, former Jaipur princess and BJP MP from Rajsamand, claimed that her family descended from Lord Rama's son. She is willing to provide evidence of her family's lineage in Supreme Court, hoping it will help in expediting the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Kumari, who is a member of Jaipur's erstwhile royal family, made the comment while reacting to a Supreme Court's query on Friday whether anyone from the 'Raghuvansha' (descendants of Lord Ram) was still residing in Ayodhya in politically sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case.

"My family is the descendant of Lord Rama. My father was the 309th descendant of Lord Rama. We have documents that show that we descended from Kush, Lord Rama's son. We belong to the Kushwaha or the Kachhawa clan," Diya Kumari told India Today TV.

"If the Supreme Court wants, we can show the documents pertaining to our lineage. I want that the Ram temple be built as soon as possible and if it is required to expedite the process, we can show documents in front of the Supreme Court," Diya Kumari said.

Curious to know whether anyone from the 'Raghuvansha' (descendants of Lord Ram) was still residing in Ayodhya, the Supreme Court on Friday had put this query to 'Ram Lalla Virajman', the deity and one of the parties in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case.

A five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi had asked the question to senior advocate K Parasaran, appearing for 'Ram Lalla Virajman', when he was arguing that the deity and the birthplace both were "juristic" entities and hence, capable of holding properties and instituting lawsuits.

"We are just wondering if anyone from the 'Raghuvansha' dynasty is still living there (at Ayodhya)," the bench had said.

"I have no information. We will try to find it out," Parasaran had responded.

Diya Kumari also said that there are also several others who claimed to be the descendants of Lord Rama. She said that every Indian would feel proud of claiming to be the descendant of Lord Rama.

For the sake of peace, Indian Muslims should allow the religious Hindus ( led by BJP ) to construct Hindu temples on the three disputed sites ( Ayodhya + two other sites I cannot remember the name of now ).

However, this should be on the condition that no further such undertaking should be carried out by the BJP-led central government. I speak of things like saying that the Taj Mahal was an old Hindu temple by the name Tejo Mahalaya which was captured by invading Muslims and converted into a mausoleum.
